I have been studying Martial Arts for well most of my life I am 32 I started training when I was 8 First in karate then In Wing Chun , Tai chi Chi'na. I teach martial arts and I am also a Internet/network marketer.
Your mind is a powerful tool. We design our future based on our past. Ultimately many people create their own nightmare in life. Sure lots of people like to blame this that or another, but once you shave everything away you will see that you are where you are at because of you.
The first thing that has to be done before any breakthroughs can happen is realizing that you are truly the master of your own destiny. Once you take ownership of your life and your future you will be able to clearly see the path you must travel.
Personal Develpment is very important to you finding yourself and living a healthy happy life. Like the saying goes garbage in garbage out. Fill your mind with junk thoughts and thats what will manifest in your life. Fill your mind with positvie excellent thoughts and thats what will manifest in your life. I know your thinking (whatever you don't know my situation) Everyone has their "situation"
It has taken me years of hard work and dedication to get to where I am at as a martial artist. I had to humble myself, evaluate myself, look at my weaknesses and fears , confront them, control them, control myself, listen to others, at the end of the tunnel I found the light. But I wanted to give up so many times.
Personal development is like martial arts in philosophy, there are many aspects that are so similar its frighting. Once I got exposed to the personal development industry I was hooked. Even on a business level I understand that if a person is seeking excellence in their life they are great person to network with.
If you are wondering if personal development is worth investing your time into, the answer is absolutely.
Any money you spend in this industry is well worth it on many levels. The best money you could ever spend is in yourself.

I have beeb training in shotokan karate for the last 2 years, and can directly relate to what you are saying. A quote came to mind about conquering yourself first, then the world. I've got the words muddle up a bit, but I did find something similar:

Formal education will make you a living, self education will make you a fortune. But its not even the money when it comes to personal development, it is the person you become that makes the whole journey worth while. Since I started with personal development my whole world has changed, and that is a direct result of me seeing the world and myself differently. I recommend personal development to everyone who will listen.
