This comes right off the SFI general tips page for success page, but I think it is worth posting here in case people have not seen it.

If you are new into SFI - these are great tips to motivate you to start building your business.

For those of you already experienced in SFI this is a good post to reffer your team members to to encourage them they are on the right path.

GENERAL TIPS FOR SUCCESS:

• A correct start must include written goals and plans.

• Don't wait for everything to be exactly right to start...THERE WILL NEVER BE A "PERFECT" TIME! Start now, with whatever you have. The things you need will come to you as you work toward your goal.

• Treat your business as a serious, full-time business, and it will become one.

• Though SFI is one of the few businesses where you can earn while you learn, think of your first six months primarily as a training period. Don't expect large earnings until after you've educated yourself.

• Be patient. You'll work the hardest your first six months or so and get compensated the least. Big incomes never happen overnight. They only come after you've properly shown your affiliates how to duplicate your efforts.

• Formulate a plan of weekly activity and be persistent in following it—if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Sticking to your plan is essential for success.

• Always be ENTHUSIASTIC!!

• Don't give your affiliates unrealistic expectations.

• FOCUS! You cannot become successful in anything when you're trying to do too many things at once.

• Don't quit. The only way to fail is if you give up.

• Think BIG! Small desire produces small results, just as small fires produce little heat.

• Don't complain to your upline leaders. Realize that what you accomplish is mainly in your hands, no one else's. Also realize that, when you see a problem, 95% of the time there are factors you are unaware of. Don't jump to conclusions. When you have a problem, present it in a concise letter as positive, constructive criticism. Offer solutions if possible, too. Not only will this approach get you better results, but you'll be building your relationship with your upline instead of tearing it down.

• Be organized, but don't allow the act of organizing keep you from the most important element of a successful SFI business: MARKETING. Market and promote your business EVERY DAY!

• Don't let little problems upset you. Concentrate on the many positives...and the "big picture."

• Always remember that the only thing that will never change is that there will always be changes. Don't let changes upset you. Know that you will have to deal with changes and other obstacles, both big and small, continually. Be prepared to be flexible.

• Don't be a negative thinker and don't let the negative attitudes of others (even if they're family members, friends, or peers) influence you. All the great men and women in history had to overcome the naysayers who said it couldn't be done—and then went out and did it. Think for yourself!

• Don't be derailed by "perfection paralysis." Realize that you won't be able to do everything perfectly. Do the best job you can, then move on to the next project. Keep learning and keep moving ahead.

• Read books (such as Napoleon Hill's classic, "Think And Grow Rich") that will convince you how powerful your mind really is. Develop the tremendous potential in you (that we all have) that has never been tapped!

• Remember always..."IF IT'S TO BE, IT'S UP TO ME."

Hi,

I think that your point about negative attitude is very important, especially for new people starting out, who are perhaps not used to this attitude and who are working so hard yet likely seeing few results.  Of course is normal when starting something new, and it's the people who persevere that will be rewarded.

Negative attitude can easily affect you though, and have you questioning yourself and the big decisions you made in seeking a home based business.  There will always be negative attitude, because there will always be people who don't think they can do it, who don't think others can do it.  While it's difficult to ignore this, you must!  Let it go and focus on the positive-what did you learn this week that might help your business, for example.  Negative attitude is a come and go thing, and will continue to come and go as YOU become successful.  You can't escape it, but you can decide how you are going to act when faced with it.

It's not you, it's not your business.  The negative attitude is there regardless, so don't take it personally and keep striving for your goals.  There are too many positive minded people out there that you should be searching for.  Do not waste any time trying to change the mind of a negative thinker.  If they are negative, let them go and look else where.  Focus ALL of your energy on positive attitudes and you will build yourself the best success story you can dream of.

I do not recomend Eagle Co-ops to my team - I have seen very poor rreturn on investment from my experience with Eagle Co-ops.

I have had success from buying shares in co-ops run by successful SFI members who generate high quality leads.  I suggest contacting your upline to see if they offer any shares in co-ops of their own.

I think team leader coop's are more reliable than eagle coop. Of course you can always generate your own leads through your own advertising. Advertising your own home business website and capturing email addresses is best for building your list of leads.

I agree - I have never recomended to my team to purchase the Eagle Co-op leads.  I have never seen a positive return on my investment with Eagle Co-ops. The best leads are ones you can generate from your own efforts.

To help my team I have set up a SFI training site than is free.  If you want some help with getting your SFI business started feel free to go through my training.

I don't remember if Eagle co-op leads have a phone number with them or not. If so call the leads you get in your country. Otherwise you just end up with a bunch of leads that do not convert into anything. I quit doing the Eagle co-op because it just didn't get the new affiliates and new EA's.

I have used the eagle Co-op with some success. I have to qualify that just a little. I am relentless in my marketing. So I marketed to those leads FOREVER! By mail, e-mail, and phone calls. I sent free gifts and marketed other businesses that I am involved with.
(remember, once you have your leads, you can market whatever you want to them. I sold one of my leads a condo!)

Lead generation is really easy once you have a few tools under your belt and a system of follow up. You really shouldn't have to pay for leads.

One quick example: Create lead capture pages and advertise them everywhere. I very rarely advertise my business.  I offer something that will help other people achieve their goals and offer to give it away for free. All they have to do is fill in a form on my page to recieve my gift. BAM! I've got a lead!

Make your freebie something that your target market would want. Once they sign up, then they have "Opted-In" to recieve future contact from me.

Once you have your lead, don't start beating them over the head with how great SFI is. Take your time and attempt to establish a relationship first!

Take a look at this article: What is Your Primary Focus As AN MLM Or Affiliate Marketer

This will explain what I mean.

I hope this helps a little

Hello, my name is Marvin Cline and I am a new memeber.  Just want to say I am ready to make this work, second time around for me. About three years ago I looked into SFI probably with a closed mind as I left in just one short week. SFI is still here and has grown so they must be doing something right. I qoated stirls post as he had the motivation I was needing at the moment. Thanks. Anyway enough said. You will see me here often I am sure. This time I will make it work.  MCline

am into SFI and the for me the best way to succeed is through patience and having a good sponsor, for me my sponsor have been really helpful, both in supporting with marketing programs and even opting to pay for his downlines EA membership even to his 7th tier downline for me thats great and it has benefited most of his downlines in succeeding with SFI

Eagle Co-Op no longer exists and hasn't for a number of months.  It has been replaced with EyeEarn, a Co-OP that you pay a $20 one time fee for and you will receive a share (or number of shares) of affiliates per month.

I personally have received 3 new EA's in the past 2 months from this program.  What I can tell you is that for $20, you will receive quite a number leads, even more if you qualify for certain programs.

Quite honestly, i never discourage affiliates from trying anything, even if it does not work for me.  That does not mean it will not work for someone else.  EyeEarn is another avenue for success, and i do suggest it.  If it works for you, GREAT, if it doesn't, there are always other alternatives.

Be positive...keep pushing, never give up.

Chris
