Hi,
This forum looks like just personal introductions. So let me introduce myself. I'm Jim from Iowa City, Iowa. I've tried several online programs and so fr couldn't say I'm making a living doing it. I guess it's a hobby. I'm a pilot by trade. So, if you care to recommend a good online opportunity please respond.

There seems to me to be soooo much "stuff" that its hard to keep my head above water
how does a neewbie tune out everything thats coming at him??
it seems so many places you end up are offering free advertising and the next page says 19.95???
I know its not productive to complain....whos got solid advice out there?

This is so true! I can say that I've never lost much money in MLM's. Now, my first 3 1/2 years wasn't very productive (as far as meeting my personal goals), but I spent time instead of money. Yes, I know time is money, but I was willing to spend the time.
Once I locked onto Send Out Cards, I was able to apply what I had learned before and this put me on the road of success.
I build 95% of my business online. Networking online is FREE (forums like this). It's not the fastest, but cost effective. IMO building relationships is key to this business. People want to work with those who care the most. Some people want to contact you 1 time and have you sign-up. Then they don't want to talk with you anymore.
I am in this business for the long term. To be successful for the long term, you need partners for life. This comes from building relationships. How do you build online relationships? By post credible information and posting consistently. Posting 1 time will not cut it. Successful marketing is done by keeping your name in front of the people. Timing is huge in this business. I like to teach my team to "DRIP" on people. Build those relationships. You can meet tons of people in these forums and we all have similar goals. But meeting 1 time will not accomplish anything. Build those long term relationships. It's FREE and very effective.
My business is set up for building relationships. I can take 60 seconds and send my online friends a card. That further establishes our friendship. They know that I'm thinking of them. When you are networking online, don't just talk about your business. Talk about life. Find out what you have in common. After all, you are not trying to sell anyone. You are establishing relationships. Build enough relationships and I'll show you a successful home business.

Hi Jim,
If you are talking about online programs that advertise your business, I would advise against it. They are usually money-pits. The thing is, there is so much advertising thrown at us everyday... tv, radio, billboards, internet viagra... the list is endless. Do you take much stock in those ads? I just change the channel. So do most people.
This business is really about relationships. People are more likely to do business with someone whom they trust. There is really no substitute for getting out there and just talking with people, much like you do online.
I take the bus everyday and force myself to say hello to one new person. I have met some weirdos, and I have also made some wonderful friends. My passion is music, and I met someone who wants me to write the music for a motion picture he is producing. You never know who you are going to talk to, or what their story is until you ask.
If you are a pilot, you must meet lots of people in lots of cities!! Forget using an online program to get leads, just meet people!

I would tend to both agree and disagree with Bee. It is defiantly true that your relationships with people should be one of the most important parts of life as well as with your network marketing business but I disagree on the most effective way of finding those relationships when it comes to network marketing. I think that there are a lot of good programs out there that help you market online but you do have to be careful of how you allocate your marketing dollars. If you get into a good program you should have someone above you that can help you with this.
I market my business entirely online and rarely mention it to people in my day-to-day life because I want serious people to come find me and not waste my time looking for them. I find that it works a lot better this way. There are a lot of good strategies to drive qualified people into you business. Take some time to do some heavy research and you will begin to understand what I mean.
