Hello everyone

:):)

I’m starting to enjoy Forums, English is my second language so you will found some grammatical booboos, however I’m very happy and I’m learning a lot from forums visitors so my business is gradually groin, thanks to forums and to the tremendous support that I have from my mentors,  it’s wonderful and incredible, furthermore is funny.

Greetings !!!!Angel,

I think you may have meant "growing" or "growin' ". Check up "groin" ;) in an English dictionary and I'm sure you'll get a surprise.:)

English is a difficult and illogical language to learn, but yours is good. You just need to look out for this type of spelling error. Consider it as learning the finer points of the language!

BTW: Welcome to this forum. You will fit in just fine.

Hi Angel (again)

Just a quick funny story to relate to language issues.   I speak Japanese and in my early days working a retail job in Sydney selling unisex shirts I used a word I believed to mean just that,,,Unisex but instead I was using a word that described the shirts as urine samples.

Ke Nyo and Ken Yo,, not alot of difference but explained the many strange looks and giggles I got from customers lol.   Good luck  :D

Hello Travis,

My first language is Spanish, I was born in Italy (I don’t speak Italian and I wish too) but my parents took me to Cuba because in those years they decided to life for ever in Cuba, so to avoid the hesitation of travel to Italy every time they need my birth certificate they registered me in Cuba.

I tried to open you website and none of them open, I get a message that said (Explorer can no open that website) please take a look of them.

Best Regards

Your comment about "groin" and "growing" is comical. You're right, he'll get a great chuckle out of the Dictionary definition of both. As it turns out, "groin" is vernabular in the "hood" for growing, sort of like "ho" is for .... well, you know.

It turns out, English is a great second language, because it will be the dominant language in the World in another 2-3 decades. That's not because it's used by us in America, or the English, or the Indians (as a mandatory language). It's rather because English is the MOST EFFICIENT language on the Planet. Period.

The great Commodities expert, Jim Rogers (multi-Centimillionaire, ie, multiple hundreds of millions of dollars in net worth and former partner of George Soros) told me he had directed his daughter to learn Mandarin Chinese, because it has the largest population dedicated to one language in the World, and China is growing like a wild fire.

I told him "true". And it certainly pays to learn another language because much more is learned than just the language, ie, the culture and way of life, and it surely endears people who speak a different language to you. But, it doesn't speak to the long-term effect of language and why some languages die out over the centuries.

Just for the record, English is THE most efficient language on Earth to use for communicating business, econimic and political thought. No other language comes close. The French are pissed that their language is so often translated into English, but not the reverse. That's for a very good reason (I was totally fluent in French at the end of high school and could have studied engineering at the Sorbonne) is that French has about 170,000 words (largely devoted to emotions, sensabilities and such), while English has about 550,000 words, largely devoted to business, law and economic issues.

If you recall your History, the British empire was built on economic and business success, not military success, like the earlier empires of Rome, and numerous nations in the mid-East and Asia.

Guess what dominates World thought today? Business and commerce. Period. Take any document about a business or economic issue or transaction and translate it into any other language in the World. It will take much more space, words, letters and printed pages to say in all other languages than in English. Now, multiply than by 100 MILLION times, and you begin to get the ramifications of an efficient language. In another 30-50 years, there will be only a few dominant languages. Number one will be English and EVERY child in the world will be taught it as a second language, number 2 will probably be Spanish because of it's ease of use and wide-spread usage. Beyond that, it will be an interesting debate.

But make no mistake about it, EVERY civilized nation in the World, and the developing ones with intelligent leaders, will have English as it's primary language for business and economics and it's first "second language".

Greg
