    Greetings folks,
My name is Yusef and yes, I did get closed minded about Network marketing, even though I always seemed to buy into the "system" more than the product/service.  I always thought it "could" work with the right product.

But luckily I have found a solid company with an easy to market product.  Best part is I recouped my low investment in the first week and everything from now on is gravy.
I like gravy!

So I joined this forum to get some marketing ideas and of course share some as well.

I have tried advertising on the net but really haven't seen much results.  I am contemplating a web site to draw traffic too.  I have tried newspapers and have had minimal success.

I would like to gernerate my own leads.  Right now through my organization we have to pay for the leads which have been good.  I am looking for alternative marketing to cut down expenses and give me a different avenue to go down.  Any suggestions?

Firstly it has nothing to do with the product or company for you to succeed in this business, but guess what! you are on the right track. It is all about your marketing and sales technique.

You should start by asking yourself what you are selling. Is it the product or opportunity?

Think about this? Put yourself in your prospects shoes!!! do they really care about the product or the opportunity? Probably not.

So  back to the question what are selling?

You are selling a vehicle for the prospects to get what they want. So sell them on what they want.

I take it you would like to start selling products or generate leads online. Great if you do. Be prepared for some hard work.

Firstly you need to start building your own web site. Search SBI.

You have 2 options either start a home based business seeker web site (be warned competition is increasing dramatically) or finding a niche that your product can solve a problem.

ie: If your selling a skin cream - Start a website on a type of skin disease.

If you do this you will find this will open a whole new avenue to your business and especially your income.

To be successful in any network marketing business you must focus on building a team of people.  It's not the product that will get you to time freedom.  Please please please get this!  I've been involved in network marketing for four years and wasted most of those years on product.  The product will not make you financially free.  You must know your "WHY".  Why are you doing this business?  Have you read Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki?  If not, please do.  Every network marketing business has a flagship product and they probably are all great, but you must be attached to a team of people who will help you to become financially free.  I'm being mentored by an incredible man who knows the network marketing industry inside out and has built three separate business to 6 & 7 digit figure incomes.  If you are not on a strong team, find one!!!

There is an analagy that is often used about Ray Kroc and McDonalds. He didn't sell hamburgers he sold franchises and made 3% off of each franchise sold which gave him $500 million fortune instead of 5 bucks for a burger. That's the way we need to be. When it comes to choosing between pushing products and recruiting we should decide whether we want to be selling hamburgers or owning francises.

You must have a mixture of customers and partners in order to have a healthy business.  If McDonalds didn't have Big Macs and Fries there would be no franchises.

Having a business with a with a solid customer base teaches your partners to do the same. 

 Mentoring and building a business is about relationships.  Yes, I agree that residual income and the money is in network marketing and that requires focusing on your team,  but do not forget your customers.  They supply an important backbone to a healthy business.

i knew that the time and money freedom was available and i was relentless. i knew that abundance is available for everyone that persists.

your title caught my attention because it is so easy for all of us to get discouraged in our building process especially when you have tons of money and time invested into a business (and your family thinks you are nuts).

we are all dreamers here and know what is available on the other side. i am glad to share the experience here with all of the dreamers and persistent people in this forum. it is great to be surrounded by 5%'s.

getting discouraged for anyone is normal. it is so important to persist and commit to your dreams.

Any extremely lucrative business has a mark up of roughly 200-400%. That is the way America works. But you need to show VALUE with that product. Making money in this industry is about conveying value. Value in the products, system to make sales , and the compensation plan.  I haven't had a JOB in 5 years and never will because I get what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.  Just keep these things in mine. And you usually get what you pay for.

NO business that costs less than a couple thousand dollars to start is worth it.  Like a carpenter needs tools in his tool belt you will need tools such as systems, advertising, and product. If you dont have that to do then you should wait until you have the capital to properly start a business.

I have to agree offering a product that has massive value as a stand alone product and by using the product pays for itself several times over is important.

In addition for survival in the home based business & networking industry you need to have several components in place to ensure your success. I agree you should not be marketing a product unless you are earning a minimum of $1,000 profit on your front end product.

Of course persistency & consistency is key to achieving results. With the right systems, leverage and training you will have the results. Continue to persist and do not give up. You will see the results.

I have been on both sides. 3 years with a traditional offline mlm company - showing the plan, going to homes to share the business model, home meetings, over 3 years and small checks that could barely fill a tank of gas. now this was a model that profit margins were small and there was no marketing engine in place.

Now w/marketing online with a true proven system and all the compenents that make a successful enterprise it is all about experiencing profits and results.

Believe in yourself, have fun and be consistent.
