Writing keyword focused articles, and making them with good content are the two ways to get traffic from articles.
Because some of the larger article directories like ezine articles get indexed regularly by google, if you have a keyword focused article, it can get on the front page of google rather quickly.
Also, if your article gets picked up by a ezine, and they distribute it, you can get free traffic from that.
Hope that helps.

There's no magic number. So...no perfect answer to your question.
It also depends on the quality of your article.....how attractive it is to "readers"......how "attractive" your sig box is in inviting "them" to click on your link(s)....how well the article targets the type of traffic you want.....if the article is interesting enough to be picked up by ezines and websites for content (called viral marketing)....how targeted "their" audience is in relation to your intended audience...and a whole lot more.
That said...you should try to write and submit 2-4 quality articles every month .... every week if you can handle it. Consistency over time is the real magic.
God Bless,
Michael

I find that everyone should find their own mix in terms of quality, quantity and distribution.
I will say that an authoritative, yet personable writing style and keeping your articles no more than 400 words (500 for directories that require it as most readers suffer from a mild case of ADD) will help you maximize your results. ;-)
Also, I have found that refraining from telling your life story in your sig box and ONLY giving compelling, benefit laden copy in this area has increased my click through rates to as high as 50% in some instances.
Lastly, the all important headline. Put your keywords in the headline (in the beginning if at all possible for best SEO) and make sure it includes a least two of the following:
- Benefit
- Pain avoidance
- Are they missing out if they don't respond?
- Curiosity
Hope this helps and Happy New Year!

| As much as it takes. Don't give up, the key is quality content and effective use of keywords. Also sign up for Ezine articles - http://www.ezinearticles.com. Google loves articles from them

I would suggest writing at least 30 articles a month. This comes down to writing one article in your niche a day. However, the more articles you write, the more traffic you'll receive. I follow the bum marketing method quite closely.

I agree with the slow and steady wins the race mentality. I think over the course of several months if you do this on a consistent basis you will see fantastic results.

I would suggest writing at least 3 keyword articles a week. You can always change the article a little and post it on your blog to get it out there faster. See what kind of articles the top producers are writing and write similar articles. That does not mean copy them. Use them as inspiration. Hope this helped.

I don't think it was mentioned here, but you REALLY want to make sure that you adding a link to your personal website or domain name in the resource box when posting articles.
I just happened to go check out some of my old articles and I felt like slapping myself! Really! All of my old articles had links in the resource box that pointed to programs that I am no longer a member of. UGGGG!! That’s REALLY bad if you know anything about SEO(search engine optimization). Oh well, I can only blame myself, but I must admit that one of my old programs didn’t tell me to buy my own domain name and they actually had me put my old affiliate link in the resource box which pointed back to their site boosting their rankings with the search engines. A DIRTY TRICK! By the way, the resource box is where you place a little bio about your with your website link when posting in article directories.
Anyway, I’m in the process of going through and editing MANY old articles and replacing old links with links to this site in the resource box.
If you’ve been submitting to link directories and article directories and have been placing your companies affiliate links on those sites, then you screwed up just like me. There really is no easy way to fix it. You can either start over from scratch or you can go back and try to find all of your old links and edit them accordingly.
The solution to this…
Buy your OWN domain that you’ll own for life. Make sure that any link you post on another website points to your site. If you really want to ramp things up, start a blog or your own website and keep fresh content on it all of the time. Your goal is to find ways to get your website link published on other websites and to keep great content on your website. I’ve been doing this for about a 2 months now and my Alexa rankings has went from over 1,500,000 to 430,000 so it definitely works.
Just head over to your favorite registrar such as Godaddy.com or whomever you prefer. Even if you redirect your domain to an affiliate link, you’ll still be doing yourself a big favor.
Hope this has been helpful.

That can be so frustrating. Good thing I'm just starting out with an atricle submissions strategies. I have a few of my webpages and blog link on the resource box and would adust it accordingly depending of on what I'm doing.
The main thing to remember is to have at least your main website/domain always there and so that it can act as feeder to everything else that your doing.
Video submission is another aspect to incorporate as I've notice the when coducting a search a lot of youtube videos tend show at the top of the search page.
There several key parts to having well oiled marketing/traffic machine going and article and video submission are key players on it.

The more articles you publish and submit, the better. Articles and press releases increase exposure for your site and can also help build backlinks. These two factors can contribute to your stats and drive more traffic.
