Articles are a great way to market. I really love them because I can spend a few hours and create a couple of articles and get them up on the web and they send back traffic to my site for maybe a couple+ years. And the best thing about them is that they are free.
I like to look at them as a little employee. I find that if I pick the right person (keyword) and really work with them (write it wll and create good backlinks) I will get results from this employee for years. And the best thing is that they never quite. I just might need to work with them again from time to time.
Agree with all the positive stuff on article marketing. I find EzineArticles.com pulls more clicks then any of the other by a mile. Goarticles.com and ArticlesBase are the next two, for me anyhow.
I'd also recommend avoiding starting your last paragraph with words and phrases like 'finally' and 'in conclusion', because they suggest that there is nothing more to say - ie not worth reading the resource box. Not what you want!
What is also a good idea is to use your primary keyword in the hyperlink inside the resource box, which gives more authority to your article on that subject.
To use my own as an example, if you'll forgive me (after all you don't have to click on it!) if I was writing an article on 'online MLM prospecting', and wanting to bring visitors to this particular capture page, I would include that keyword in the resource box with the following code:
