I don't think I understand how Article Marketing works? Can some one give me a brief overview in Laymans terms?
I work with a Direct Response Network Marketing company so if there is anyone out there who is well versed in both Article Marketing and how to cooridinate that with Direct Response Network Marketing that would be great.
Some of you are probably asking "what is Direct Response Network Marketing?" Well Here is what it is...
Basically I work with a company that has given my a really nice website and I answer incoming telephonse calls about the companies products and home based business opportunity. The products and the Business Opportunity are advertised on Television through infomercials.
I have had great success in that portion of the business what I want to learn now is to catch the attention of people like me who like to learn about things online before they call an 1-800 number and get sucked in to ordering.
Is BLOG and ARTICLE ADVERTISING a viable way to drive people to my website?
How do I do it?

Hi Tyson,
Google search "Article Domination" by Joshua Spaulding. It costs about $29, but well worth it for a good read on marketing with articles.
Read "The Authority Black Book" by Jack Humphrey for using articles. blogging, and social marketing.
These are 2 of the best books I have read in a while on getting traffic via articles.

Here's how to do Article Marketing
Step 1: Go to "Digital Point" and
search for a key word.
Step 2: Look out for Keywords that are
"Long Tailed Keywords"
Step 3: Google using this "allintitle: Your Chosen
Long Tailed Keywords" and check the results.
Step 4: If the Googled results are 2000 or
less, target that keyword in your article.
Step 5: Post your article in EzineArticles-->Blog-->Article Marketer

| When you submit your articles, they are picked up by webmasters who need content on their websites, blogs, ezines etc. When someone reads your article, they will often click your link found at the bottom of the article in the author's resource box and visit your site. This increases traffic to your site and when the search engines find all those links pointing back to your site, it will improve your placement in the rankings.

All the basic information on how does article marketing (AM) works are already.
But for AM to really works, you have to submit a lot of articles. 100 articles and above is a good to generate continuous traffic.
Nowdays, submitting only a few articles will not work. Yes, you will get traffic initially. But soon it will died down by thousands of other articles. So it is best if you can work on consistent basics such as writing an article per day. Will see good results in the long run.
I have wrote about 30+ articles. And it works. 
I need to churn out more articles too!
If you hate writing.... outsource.

Yes. Writing an article will not work on its own. It is the weight of numbers that will win the day. If you did an article a day or 3 a week and just let it build up. Heck even 1 a week will get you there.

Hi Everyone,
I'm very new at article marketing and this is a wonderful place to get imput and support. I currently have 2 articles and I have submitted them to about 7 directories. Some of those include:

I love the fact that marketing with articles can become sort of a viral form of marketing that can continue to grow with time. I noticed that it was mentioned that it takes alot of articles to see the change.
Can anyone give me any idea what to expect with article marketing? How many articles? How many sites should they be submitted to, etc?
Also, if you would like to read my articles, feel free to check them out at any of the websites listed above (Just search for my name when you get there). I would love to hear any feedback or comments you may have. As for the sites listed above, I would highly recommend them all.

Article marketing is one way to generate lots of traffic to your site. Article marketing is very simple. The most important is you have to write an article that is related to your website. The content of your articles should be informative enough for the readers to follow the link to your website. You have to use the right keywords for your articles so that it will rank higher in search engines result.
Next is you have to submit your articles to article directories, article submission is either manual or automated. One good site is http://www.articlesender.com they will distribute your articles to 3000 article directories.
If you are not a writer at heart, you can always hire someone to do it for you. You can visit http://www.agentsofvalue.com and look for a content writer who will do the writing. A lot of internet marketers are hiring agents from this website.
You can also make your own blog and post all your articles in your blog. You also have to promote your blog so that your articles will be known to other bloggers and internet surfers.

If you want article marketing to work for you then you need to write a lot of them. Writing and submitting articles does not make you money on itself, what matters is what you do with the traffic you generate.
You need to be able to write articles in such a way that makes people click to your website.
This is how I do it and I get about 15% - 25% of everyone who read my article to visit my web page.
I write introduction, the body and do not conclude it. That way every person who reads my article is left hanging and desires more information for me. I provide a way out immediately and ask them to download a detailed report.
Using article marketing this way, I'm able to convert about 35% of all website visitors to subscribers. Take note that I conver 15 -25% of readers to visit, when they visit, I convert 30 - 35% to subscribe.
At that point, I follow up and make the sale eventually.

Writing 2 articles shows that you are dedicated enough to get started. Now I must be honest with you here, if you want articles to work for you, then you need to write a minimum of 3 articles each day. At the end of 30 days, you should have atleast 100 articles online.
But there are certain things you must do along the line to get your website promoted using your articles. If you just write and do not include a proper call to action, people will just read your articles, appreciate them and leave.
Your aim is to get as many of the people who read your article as possible to visit your pages. To do that, you need to create a squeeze page which collect the email addresses of people who read your article.
Now the only way you can achieve this is by providing a give away such as a free video, audio or just a report that is relevant to the article they read.
Just tell them, if you want more information download my report, and a lot of people comes and pick up the report.
Once you have them in your list start building reltionship by introducing yourself and getting to know them.
If you want quick and immediate traffic, submit the bulk of your articles only to 3 top directories.
Ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, and articledashboard.com
If you want inbound links for long term search engine optimisation, then submit to 100 article directories.
To benefit from the two instances above, it is best to submit 90% of your articles to the top 3 directories, and 10% to the rest 100 - 200 article directories.

Besides submitting articles to article directories, is it better to have a blog with articles or to have an article directory on a website?
I have submitted several articles to directories and am looking for another way to use articles.

You can post your articles on blog. To get search engines to crawl it faster, you will need to ping each time you post your articles at pingomatic.com. But you have to make sure that the articles on your blog is unique and has not been submitted anywhere.
You can get more traffic to your blog by submitting more articles to directories with your blog link at the author resource box.

| Article marketing is a way of creating backlinks to your site which in turn will boost your search engine ranking, although if you can write quality articles that people will actually read, people will go to your site from the article directory and get you traffic from there.

Yep it is good to have an article submitter, but there is no point submitting to 1000 article directories if 950 of them have a pr of 1, only submit to article directories with a pr of atleast 4.

I wanted to jump back in here an offer an update on what I am doing with article marketing. Here is what I am doing and am now on page one of Google for over 1500 unique keywords.
1. Write a 400-500 word article around a keyword phrase of 3+ words
2. Post it in my blog
3. Social bookmark it to OnlyWire.com and several other social directories.
4. Submit it to SubmitYourArticle.com
5. Use their Article Leverage program to rewrite the article so it is at least 30% unique.
6. Mass submit to hundreds of directories with a unique version going out to each one.
This seems to be working well as long as I am consistent with it.

I found an article directory submission site while I was randomly surfing the other day. It looked kind of interesting, and I keep reading that people can have great success using article marketing, but I have no idea what it is.
Could someone explain exactly what you DO to write articles, how writing an article turns into generating traffic and sales, and anything else that might be good for newbies to know?
What skillsets are most valuable? Are there any obvious pitfalls to be avoided? Stuff like that would be extremely helpful.
In my specific case, my goal is to drive traffic to my websites and increase the membership base. I'm assuming that I would write short but relevant articles, include links to my sites, and then submit the articles to something like that directory thing I found. Is that basically it, or do I need to know something about the rather mysterious stuff that happens after the article is submitted?
Or am I wrong on all counts and completely missed the point? Please educate me.
