Article marketing is a terrific traffic generation tool. It's marketing to a group of people via a well-written and informative article. Some people use article marketing as their main form of advertising because it can be so effective. One of the reasons that article marketing is so great is because you are positioning yourself as the expert before you are prompting the reader to buy anything. This gives you credibility and makes the reader more inclined to buy since you have already given them something of value for free. The added benefit is that you are just teaching them. Nobody likes a sales pitch and with article marketing, you're not really making one. If the reader is impressed with the information you provide, they will click on your link to get more information from you without you having to ask them to.
There are many different factors that contribute to making article marketing a success. To help, I will name a few key points.
1) Articles show up in organic searches on big search engines. Make sure your article is packed with keywords that your target audience is most likely to use in a search. Get a good keyword research tool to help you find out which keywords are the most popular.
2) Don't forget to put a covered hyperlink in your "About the author" section, at the end of your article. This ensures that they must actually click on your link in order to go to it (which will help you track it). Use a short sales pitch to get people to go to your webpage.
3) Find the budget to use an article submission service like Article Marketer. This will save you a ton of time over manually submitting them - it will be worth it.

I have started writing articles. this is one of my marketing methods to help my business. I am currently submitting 2 articles a week on subjects covering, surprise, network marketing. The subject includes not only article writing, but also blogging, submitting your website to directories, submitting your website to search engines, etc. The most effective articles should be at least 350 words or more. You can also pay to have a service write articles for you. I too have invested in this service. this is due to time constraints. But, I am also writing some of my own articles just to get the skills to do this.

Good for you. Mastering the skill of writing is one of the most important things you can do. Writing allows you to market your business via article directories, social directories, blogging, classified ads, forum marketing, email marketing etc. There is no greater skill needed online. I have been using article marketing for about 2 months now, i know it is a great
traffic generation tool but the submission process gets tedious so i will sign up for an automation service like article marketer. Have you used article marketer for your submissions?

article marketing is an excellent traffic source.
the article submitter is great but I agree it definitely can be time consuming even with the tool if you are submitting to several different directories.
I know you mentioned you have been doing article marketing for 2 months, have you used the automated tool or did you just start using that service?
up until now I have been using the article submitter software which has helped increase the submission process.

I have to agree that article marketing is one of the best to generate traffic to your website.
Of course, you really have to be good in writing your articles to keep the readers read your article all the way to the resource box and enough for them to click to your link. You have to raised the curiosity of the readers and if possible don't spill too much information on your articles so that they will be left hanging and eventually follow the links to find for more.
Article submission is indeed time consuming but with automated submission it can speed up the whole process. One good site is http://www.articlesender.com
The site will submit your article to 3000 article directories in but I think they will need a small donation before you start.

Articles marketing is great. You just have to be consistent to have good amount of traffic.
What your strategies with articles marketing? witch directory do you post on? How many time by week? etc?

work2bfree I would like to first say congradulations to waking up to that fact. It seems that some article writers have gotton sloppy & lazy. I have read some good articles, however, I have also seen some articles that are poorly written or just plain terrible! I wonder how they even got published or if the publisher even read the article before it was published!
So, that is commendable that you are actually learning to write articles the right way. It sounds like from the information I have read here that you really have some potential to be a good article writer. Keep it up! We need more competant article writers on the Internet.

Effective article writing is a major skill in itself disregarding what you do with it afterwards. Personally I find the ideas come to be quite easily but I struggle to put them down on paper effectively so not only does it read right but delivers the right bang. For this reason and this alone I always sub my writing out to a great writer who is an expert in his field. This frees my time up to focus on delivering goods to make the whole thing gel together and be profitable. For me atleast it's all about working smart and getting the ballance right. I could spend a day trying to get an article to sound right and thats why I dont get dragged into that false economy.

It is very interesting to write articles especially about your business. Here I can mention somethings about Business Writing:
First you need to define your PURPOSE and stick to it. Your writing will need to achieve one of the four I's:
Instruct : e.g. new technology
Infrom : e.g. advise progress
Interpret : e.g. summaries and details
Influence : e.g. persuade to buy
Your purpose in writing should be clearly stated in your opening.
AVOID THE SLOW BUILD-UP - IT FRUSTRATES BUSY PEOPLE
In planning your writings, you have to define the five W'S:
WHO is it for? Keep the reader in mind
WHY are you writing? Make an early statement of purpose
WHAT will you say? Keep it short and simple (KISS)
WHERE will your main points go? Have a logical flow
WHEN do they need it by? Write in time
HOW long will it take you?

jdpuglse, I fully agree with you that some articles are truly lack of professionalism and quality.
I guess it's because people can be carried away by 'submitting an article for the sake of submitting an article' and not bothered about what they really have to say and contribute to the world through that article.
In fact, when one is passionate about a topic, there's no reason to submit an article that is lacklustre and poor in quality. It actually do more harm than bad to the writer. Instead of positioning himself or herself as an expert, it proves exactly the opposite - that this person is a ________ (fill in the blank).
I love article marketing. It allows me to share something useful to the world though I certainly dislike the tedious process of having to submit them.

Much has been said about submitting to a lot of article directories, and nobody is sure of what is "too much" when it comes to getting banned for duplicate content. My experience has been that by just submitting to a handful of them (the ones that Google likes), is more than enough to get decent traffic from this source.

Do you know you can actually achieve a level of success in 30 days using articles to promote your home based business 24x7? Do you know that an article written on a hot topic in your market can attract as much as 50 views per day from the popular article directories?
If you want to get laser targeted prospects to your home based business, then you should learn how to write good articles that will solve some of the problems that your potential prospects might have.
If you succeed in writing a good article and get as much as 50 views per day from it, what happens when you have 10 good articles? At an average of 40 views per day, you would be getting about 400 views to your articles.

Well if you ask me, I will say yes, article marketing can be used to
grow a network marketing organization if you have all the discipline
to keep churning out good articles as fast as you can.
The way to use articles to build a network marketing business is a
systematic marketing approach that you need to set up for maximum
results.
To use article marketing to sell network marketing opportunity, you
need to write on solutions that will help network marketers to grow
their downline fast, that way you will be able to attract like minded
individuals to you who will be willing to hear from you and follow
your recommendations when you make one.
Once you know how to write articles, you should have in mind to write
a minimum of 3 - 5 articles per day for best results. If you can do
