One of the best methods of network marketing is through the use of articles written by or for the web site owner and submitted directly to article directories. These directories work as a clearing house for information, providing free, expert opinions and advice on a variety of topics, and can be written by any site owner pertaining to their web site.
The owner need not be a true expert in the field, but must do enough research to understand the topic enough to pass information on to readers. Once the article has been written, it can be submitted to directories that offer them to multiple users. Once your article has been picked up and published by another online site, your information becomes part of the internet information available on the subject of your website.
You shouldn't submit the same copy of an article to more than one different article directory, however rewriting the same information to make each article truly unique is acceptable. Your article will also have an author’s box at the end including information about you and your business, as well as a link back to your web site for readers to click on for more information. The link also adds value to your web site by the search engines, bringing additional traffic from a user’s search.
Every article directory has specific formatting requirements as well as word counts and content guidelines. It is highly recommended to read through the guidelines before writing an article and make sure it fits into the requirements. The majority of directories do not include articles automatically and are not posted on the site until they have been a reviewed and accepted.
Articles submitted that do not meet their requirements or formatting directions are usually rejected and are not included in the directory. For those who do not have the time to write their own articles, there are a number of services that will write the articles for you to submit to the directories.

Thank you Hamish. I had to learn the hard way that by copying and submitting the same article to more than one directory was doing my business more harm than good. I thought I should share what I had learned so that others don't suffer from the same misfortune.

If you are submitting the same article to a lot of article directories you need to change up the title of your article and tweak the content. Why because many search engines will not display the same title or article repeatedly, but if you change the title you will find your articles will get more exposure.
Also you will be able to test different titles and see which ones show up on a search. If you know of any other great tips to getting max exposure of an article let us know.
