Writing articles to market a product or service is an excellent way to build business. The article should be very  informative, providing the reader with information that is relevant to a specific topic. The article may include a link to a webpage for more information. The Webpage, of course, is designed to sell a product or service that relates to the topic of the article.

These articles are commonly commited to article banks, websites, and ezine publishers. This is one of the most effective ways to market a service or product on the Internet, and it can become even more effective when it is combined with the use of an autoresponder.

Begin by setting each of your articles up in your autoresponder. It is important that each article have its very own autoresponder address, so you will need an autoresponder service that will allow you to do this. Next, make a master list of your articles, with the autoresponder address for each article listed beside the title. You can even add descriptions of the articles on your master list if you want to.

Advertising your articles one at a time can take a great deal of time... but advertising one autoresponder address .. the one for the master list.. won't take very much time
at all. Simply put it in your newsletter and on your website.  You can even allow other ezine publishers use this as a free source for their subscribers.

God Bless,

Michael

What you just posted reflects on my thoughts as I started writing articals. I was thinking of doing just that. It only makes sense to use your articals in your AR. If the artical is good enough to publish, why not use it to keep your prospects interested.

One purpose of an AR is to stay in touch and keep thier interest. If your content is interesting they are sure to follow you.

One other point on this. Michael says set up a separate repsonder for each article. This is a pain if you write a lot, but it can be very beneficial for special articles.

Then just advertise your responder address and promote the article all over the net. You can end up building several quality mailing lists from the articles you write.

Thanks for reviving this post Michael. It was good when you made it and it still is good today!:)

Thanks for taking the time to share a very valuable (and easy) marketing tool that I never might have considered.

There are so many great ways to use an autoresponder and this is another one that can help propel a business.

Thanks again,

John

Articles are great for autoresponders!  Each time I create a new blog, I just make a few tweaks and add it to the AR... that way people don't leave until they opt-out, not because I quit contacting them.

Send good content and they'll stay.  I've had people contact me after 3 months wanting to know more about what I'm doing.  Usually they have read everything I have sent them.

Great tactic!

Rex

Here are some tips for using articles in auto responders...

1.)  Always try to use a NAME feature if you can.  For example, Aweber uses something ing {FIRST_NAME} for the activation of a name in the letter body or subject line.  This draws attention.

2.)  Start the subjects of the articles with "How to, Where to, Why to,"  etc.  When people know they are getting somethinig in return for opening, your open rate goes way up as do your overall results.

3.)  Incorporate gifts as incentive to keep reading future articles.  I use ebooks and software that people can download... and just any garbage... give them something good.

Hope this helps!

Rex

It is amazing the different ways the Internet allows you to advertise. New ways come about every year.

Hi Nial,

There's a big difference between marketing and advertising and it's important that you know the difference.

Marketing is the the effort that takes place in creating the sale (selling yourself first)... advertising is simply a means of attracting potential clients and customers.

Market yourself before your business and see how much better things go!

Cheers!

Rex

Good point Rex. I call it branding and when you do that the product become secondary. Doing this is a good long term strategy for success.
