Hi,
I'm a newbie in Marketing and currently in the process of creating a website. I'm currently looking for valuable articles that can be published on my site. I came across many sites featuring articles from other writers and and I'm wondering whether there is a way to determine whether an article can be published on my site or whether I need to contact the author directly for permission.
Please help.
Regards,
Mann

Short answer .... follow the directions from the directory the article is listed in.
For some you can use the artcile directly as long as you include the author bio/sig box. It's understood.
For others you ALSO have to contact the author for permission.
Rule of thumb .... never use an article without giving the author credit as the originator.
God Bless,
Michael

I think most of the time you can lift the article off whichever website, mail, newsletter you received it in.
As long as you keep all the author info and his links, you can post the articles on your websites.
Most authors i know wouldnt mind the extra publicity on other ppl's websites.
Like freedom said. always give credit to the author.
You could also get articles at article marts (places where ppl sell their articles or ghost write them for you)

The general rule is that you should never use an article that is strictly copyrighted. If you do use an article from anywhere, make sure that the author receives proper credit by listing their name and website URL in the the author information section where you post it. NEVER blatently use another persons article. If it is copyrighted, contact the author before using it.

There are a bunch of free article databases where you can find articles to publish on your site. The only thing is, you must leave the author's bio box with his/ her link intact. It's a good place to get additional content but you don't want to strictly rely on other people's articles. You need to write your own stuff to if yiou expect any credibility.
Plus, the search engines love unique content.
