Hopefully to save a little time I can get my questions answered in one shot.

I'm new to the artical marketing aspect of internet marketing and by no means a writer. I have read some of the topics but still a little confused.

Why would you use someone elses artical, wouldn't that defeat your purpose?

Wouldn't that create traffic for the auther rather than the host?

I'm real concerned about duplicate content but see that some people use the same artical on multiple sites. Doesn't that penalize your site or blog?

I started writing articals and am only using my wordpress blog to keep things organized for now. I dropped my blogspot and not sure if it is the right thing to do.

By having a myspace, yuwie, wordpress, blogspot, websites, forums, how does one keep fresh content to all of them?

Do you take an artical down from one site and post it to another?

I'm on my way but need to get some confusion out of the way.

I concentrate on putting a fresh article on my blog and let Google find it there first. I don't care for putting other people's articles on my site. The pages i create on my sites are different from the articles i write. I really put a priority on building backlinks and i don't give duplication much thought as i post the articles on my blog first.

Usually people who take other peoples articles are Adsense publishers and are just looking for content to post to their blog or website to get traffic. I would not worry so much about the duplicate content issue. I think that is very over hyped and is not really that much of an issue. Just look at big news sites like CNN and all of these social networks. They are all just duplicate content from other sources and still get ranked high in the search engines.

If you have multiple sites and the same content on all of them, just re-write them a little bit for each one and you will have unique content for each. You just have to change a couple of paragraphs and you should be fine.

Hi Geno,

If you ask me, I will tell you that article marketing is the best way anyone can use to achieve success in MLM. You just need to know how to churn out good and original high quality articles.

I do not support re-writing articles. The reason is this takes you too much time to complete one article. If you want to do a profitable article marketing I would suggest you write from your mind.

First, depending on the area you want to write, list atleast 10 problems that your products solves, then start writing one article to answer each problem.

Of course you must know the solutions before you can start writing. Just start writing and by the time you have 300 - 350 words per article youy can stop there.

Go on to answer the 2nd, 3rd and so on.

To get many people to your website, you must write the same articles again but from different perspective and different headlines.

Use tact in directing people to your author resource box and get them to subscribe to your newsletter if you have one. Once you do this, you should be able to convert atleast 10 - 25% of everyone who reads your article.

Hi all,

article writing has become the hardest thing for me so far. There are alot of articles out there and bringing something new to the table isnt easy. But too many ppl say that this form of marketing brings traffic to your site, so i must continue trying.

Your Closer Than You Think

Hi Gino.

I am a little new to this but my understanding is that fresh new content is what google is looking for and if you duplicate an article the spider bots that google sends out to look for new content it would just go over the article. I read in your post that you really do not like to write well that post you just wrote shows me that you will have no problems. Good luck with everything.

Hey Geno, you definitely want to shy away from using the similar CONTENT.  Original content is always a good deal for you in the long run.  Also, if you don't feel comfortable writing, you can always hire a Ghostwriter to write articles for you.  That way, you can focus on other pillars of marketing while leveraging your efforts.

If you want to submit to multiple places simply keep the first article, but re-write it in different words, thats not classed a duplicate content.

And by posting others articles and giving reference to them, it builds a relationship with the original author and also attracts traffic to your own website. So it's not a total waste of time.

But personally I prefer to write my own articles.

Writing your own articles is the preferred way to do article marketing. If you are doing blogging and are pressed for time, it is okay to use someone else's article and post it in your blog. The key is that you give them 100% credit for the article and include a back link to their website if they provide a signature file.

It is better to do this than it is to let your blog sit idle. If you find yourself doing this more often than providing your own fresh content maybe you should analyze whether blogging is for you.

Article marketing is a great way to build your business, but it is not for everyone.  Therefore, this may be one form of traffic generation that you want to outsource.

Hiring an article writer is one way to do that and can be done fairly inexpensively. When possible buy articles that are 100% unique and do not need any rewrite done by you.

A fairly easy way to get started in article marketing is to offer tips, such as "5 inexpensive advertising ideas", or "10 tips for driving traffic to your site".  Another way is to take an existing article by another author, and re-word it.  Never copy another article word-for-word, but you can take someone else's article and put a different spin on it.

In my humble opinion, the single most important aspects, are to write content that you would be genuinely interestered in reading if you were searching for information on a given subject, and two, be yourself. People today are pretty savvy when it comes to spotting phonies. If folks like you, get something out of what you have written, they will want to find out more about you. Remember, the key to success in MLM or in any business in life, for that matter, is that you are selling YOU! You are not selling a great product, or the best business opportunity. You are selling YOU. If you have a solution or product or idea, or whatever, that people feel can make their life better, they will want to know more about YOU. You are the expert, the one who holds the solution. People hate to be sold, but they love to buy, especially from someone they feel they know and can trust. Most of us wish we could go back to the "Andy Griffith" or "Leave it to Beaver" days. Mayberry does still exist, in our hearts. I hope this made some sort of sense.

Mitch

Hi Geno, newbies use someone else's article because mainly they can't come up with their own. This is not uncommon but it isn't good in the long run either.

It is true that you are creating traffic for the author but also realise that when your readers find that you are the one who find these good articles , they will realise that they can always find information on your site and keep on coming back.

The webmasters have a very good reason for putting duplicate content. They use tactics to gain visitors who click on their ads and earn them money.

Between blogspot and wordpress, I highly recommend wordpress. You need to have absolute control over your blog as well as your website.

You definitely do not take down an article to post in another. Just post them hours apart.

Hope it helps.
Cheers

Geno,

Writing is one of my passions, but it is something that I learned along the way.

One thing to remember - blogging is very effective.

I do not always post a complete article to my blog.  I blog at least three times a week and some times the blog is just a few sentences.  Check it out at

http://lisa-willard.blogspot.com

Keeping it short and simple, but powerful is effective.  The key is to add fresh content with keywords.  Google loves blogs, so use it to your advantage.

I also write articles and post those to several directories.  I get a great deal of traffic from articles.

I recently wrote an article that might help.  The title is "How to write an effective article ":)

I just joined this forum but might be of some use here.

If you are planning on selling articles in batches, you simply hire writers to do the articles for you.

Unfortunately, getting an educated and reliable team of writers is harder than trying to throw wolverines into a barrel while butt naked.

I write content and am developing my own content sales site.

I also run a blog that leads freelance writers to jobs (in theory).

A big trick is to find a writer with a style you like.

I highly recommend having them produce a "Free Sample" article on the topic of your choice.  Also tell them what to do!  Most people just let them go with no direction.  Try being very specific like:

I want 20 articles about dogs and I want them to be fun, not just boring information.
Some writers will see this as:  20 articles whipped out in one day that are 90% "Cocker spaniels originated in blah blah blah"
Good writers will see this as:
"I had a cocker spaniel named Trigger when I was a kid.  I loved Trigger but he had an odd habit.  Every time he saw a cat, he'd pee all over the ground, roll over, and play dead."

That's the difference between boring and fun.  In my opinion anyway.

I don't really understand article marketing. The above suggestions I see as something you would want to do with your basic website, not from article writing. Your *website* should show visitors how your product or service solves a problem, etc. Why would you have to write an article to make the same point. In other words, if you have to write an article to make that point then your website is designed wrong, right?

Secondly - the purpose of writing articles is to get prople to your website, right? OK then, so you write an article and post it on your website. Now you *still* face the same problem of site traffic - how do you get people to your site to read your article?

Maybe I don't understand all of this - is my view of article writing on or off the mark?

The trick with having great articles on your website is that various other websites, blogs, and communities may find it and post it on their sites, blogs, and e-mail it to family and friends.  The more interesting articles you have, the bigger your web of potential customers may be.  Search engines also like well designed websites that offer a lot of content.

It should pertain to your products and what they offer.  Don't get too far off track or it could actually be damaging.

I've had pretty good success writing original articles for ezinearticles.

Noticed that of the 20+ articles I have there, I get several visitors per day to my website. Nothing great, but a steady stream of viewers.

I have since edited and changed my articles and posted close to 70 articles on my home webpage. This is free info for my fellow MLMers, and does not promote any plan.
