WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Obese men often experience a sharp decline in testosterone levels while obese girls show much higher levels of the sex hormone than girls of normal weight, according to scientific research released on Monday.
The story goes on to say that by gaining 30 pounds, men can lose as as much testosterone as if they aged 10 years. Obese girls had 2 to 10 times the testosterone levels as girls of normal weight. This can impair reproductive health, cause excessive hair growth, and increase their risk of diabetes.
