Now just think logically for a moment.....
You post a biz op ad here and who do you think will read it?
Other people posting biz op ads thats who.....if anybody.
So ask yourself this....
Are you interested in a biz Op?
Likely not.... since you already have one and are advertising it here right?
So....don't you think others are thinking the same thing?
"Read mine, join mine....but I have no interest in yours".
Besides that....it violates Forum policy to blatantly promote your bizop anywhere in this community. It's called spam!
So advertising your biz-op is TWICE being stupid. (sorry...you need the truth between the eyes).
Posting bizop ads online where everyone else is doing the same thing...meaning they ALREADY HAVE A BUSINESS...is just plain worthless. Here....or anywhere.
Posting bizop ads (blatant or trolling) against policy is just plain unprofessional and will do nothing for you except drag down your reputation. Not a good thing for your business.
NO ONE in boards like this is interested in joining your bizop....just advertising theirs. But if you offer a tool, resource, or information that will help their current biz efforts....then you may have something worthwhile to share.
And people will then listen.

For all those people who are new to network marketing, this is probably one of the most important lessons you can learn. Forums that allow 'shameless promotion', 'daily advertising', etc will be no more beneficial to you than if you threw your money in the garbage. When you advertise in those mediums, your market becomes other network marketers who ALREADY HAVE A BUSINESS. Not only do they already have a vested interest in another company, they care nothing for yours, even if it does claim to cure cancer or give you unlimited wealth in 5 minutes. Think about that. Who is your target market?
Freedom brings up another great point. If you do want to take advantage of forum advertising, offer the market something they are actually looking for - a way to promote their existing business. Make sure it is legitimate and actually helpful and then use that to help others solve their network marketing problems. If you do this, you can establish yourself as someone who actually cares, not just another Joe trying to grab a buck...
Have you ever heard the saying that you can get all you want in life if you only help others get what they want? Well, it's completely true. Adopt the philosophy for your own - learn it, live it, and promote it. See what happens.

I agree with all the comments so far...thanks.
The thread was meant as somewhat of a tongue in cheek attempt to get a point across....and vent a little.
The constant biz op ads and trolling in here are not only an obvious violation of Forum policy....but just don't make good marketing sense. [they're also a real time consuming pain in the butt to monitor and delete/ban]
You're advertising to folks who HAVE a business (most of them anyway). Now if someone wants another revenue stream....or is looking for a change....attracting them to "you" via your personality and helpfulness in the Forum (sic reputation) is a far better way than spamming or trolling to find potential partners. From both the seeker and the potential sponsor perspective. That's what your sigline is for.
As for promoting a product or service though....I see nothing wrong with that myself. Everyone can find something they can use from other Networkers. If shared appropriately and where appropriately (our Service and Product ad boards).
I just get annoyed with continual offenders (particularly those who post under multiple aliases) employing the 2x4 between the eyes screaming a biz op in my face.....or the "look at this what do you think" or "gee look what we just did" trolling.... especially when it drips of hype and greasy used car salesmanship.
Sets a poor example for Forum visitors too...they may think it's "OK". Or get taken in by the less than professional/honorable marketing method. Not a good way to find a biz or a sponsor.
Anyway....might not do any good but it felt better to vent it. If just 1 person learns something useful it'll all be worthwhile.

I hate to beat a dead horse to death, but this is such an important topic.
Realistically think of how you feel when you are inundated with adds you care nothing about. Annoying right? Most people come to forums like this to develop lasting professional relationships with other network marketers or to get new marketing ideas. Keep that in mind and you can become a contributing member of our community. Become a part of the solution to the public impression of our industry - not the problem...

It's when you raise a thread's profile or visibility by returning it to the top of the list of active threads in a forum. Basically, by posting in this thread again, it was moved back towards the top where it was more visible or noticeable.
Anyway, hope that explanation made sense.

Some poeple just don't get it.
Why?
IMHO there's 3 main factors at work here. Either seperately....or in the worst case all together.
1. Lack of leadership:
- no company leadership [not just a written company policy but actively educating and enforcing the rep base about that policy CONSISTENTLY]
- no upline leadership [don't just mentor people how to "make money".....mentor them on how to be a professional]
- lack of peer leadership [ we ARE our brother's keeper]
2. They just don't know any better [see #1 above]. Excitement and enthusiasm is 1 thing....but channel it toward appropriate actions that build your reputation and business....not destroy them.
3. They just don't care..... no matter what they're told or how. These are the true spammers, trollers, scammers.
We are all responsible for #1....the whole industry....every company and industry "association", and every rep who isn't a newbie.
Like #1 we are all responsible for #2 also. But the individual ALSO must accept PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.
For #3 ...the individual has made a consious chose to ignore #1 and their own personal accountability in #2. Shame on them.
Now....we have ALL been "warned".
Before you "spam"....think 1st and make a choice. I hope it's a good one.
If you're in a leadership position of any kind....make a difference. Be part of the solution....not part of the problem. Don't just talk about it. Don't just watch it. Walk it yourself daily and if you have to......shove it in their face. Sometimes a 2x4 upside the head is the only way. So be it.
