Hi Merideth,
I know how you feel. The time when I was like working in a different state than my fiance back in Malaysia made me miss her a lot. I guess being in the Navy has been giving you the miss-feeling about your husband. So, that holiday or break is looking good right now, isn't it ? Yep , those tickets sure are pricey. But I believe that with the competition of airplace prices and all - there's still hope for better prices. 
Additonally , I discovered that the best part of being in this business is in helping people succeed. If you have more and more people who trust you in who you are - then you hit it right on the spot! thats the only way - it is to build trust. I'm sure one of the best ways is just to be plain honest. Nothing beats telling the truth.

Merideth,
I am right there with you, that is my motivation (staying home with my family). I too am military, Army. I hate being gone all the time.
I also agree with you that this to many MLM companies market the "make millions in days" crap.
Most fail in MLM because most have the microwave mentality and expect to make massive money in a few weeks. That is the fault of those who advertise that way. New associates would at least like to make more than what they pay monthly for the program and marketing (purchasing leads, training courses etc.) And then when most see that is not the case they either quit or run out of money and then quit. How do you think I know that?
I do still have an MLM company but I only promote the product because I like it that much. My primary business is a one up so I started making money in the first three weeks. SHHH don't tell my MLM, they won't let me have onother business.  My MLM is just part of my over all business plan.
Now, if you are a leader in your MLM or want to be one. I suggest you find a way to generate leads for you and your team. Then add your new team members to your own ad-coop. This way they do not have to buy useless leads and make cold calls. The leads I generate one, make me money on the front end and two eventually contact me about my program.
Back in February I attended a live training call series that lasted 8 or 9 weeks. I now have the hard copy of the course. That course was only sent out the original 500 who attended that training. Now the course will be on the market for you to purcuase, but only for 7 days. I don't know what the cost will be but if your serious about making money in the MLM industry or on the Internet you must have this course. This is the course that pulled it all together for me. I hope it helps you in your quest for freedom and being home like I will be.

Some of the advice that I have been Hearing in this section of the forum has been awesome. It strikes me that a much higher percentage of people are now going to have alot more success online, because we are choosing to educate ourselves on the formulars to success, this protects us from falling prey to all the hyped up schemes. I heard a comment the other day which blew my mind and I would like to share it with you guys. are you ready............. drum role. "Show a man how to fish he will eat for a day, teach a man to teach his children how to fish and we will eleviate world hunger"

I love that quote and it is SO applicable to our industy.
In a different context, I also like the analogy that you can only lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. This really applies to sorting through your leads and prospects to only focus your attention on the people who want to take control of their futures...not the people who want you to do all the work for them.

Hi merideth,
So Ironic that you were the first one to respond to my thread, because it was your thread, your blog, your businesses that got me intrigued. Its so funny how educating yourself directly on the things that you want, will in time give you a new lease on life. If I had read your "nobody here is interested" thread a month ago, It would of just passed me by through lack of understanding. I just checked out your "The way I make money" sig file and again was not surprised what the venture was. I had seen the system before but did not really understand its power, now It makes so much sense that its got me so exited. At the moment I am on my first pinball machine venture and am now exited to have found where the profits from this venture will be invested.

It sort of looks that way to me - haven't ever seen that before here
As for the quote...I think you HAVE to be really hungry to be successful in this industry. You have to be hungry enough to get through the initial learning curve, the hard parts, the failed advertising, etc. But the feast at the end is that much sweeter when you know you got there on your own...

| Well, some of these people makes sense and I respect everybodies opinion, but is ok everyone here has a business, but there are always a chance that someone is unhappy with their business and then sees someones ads,and decide to change. There is room to improve.

You'd do well to take heed to michael's instructions. I'm fully supporting Michael in keeping the forums clean, we all echo that statement here thats why we have such great opinions and ideas running well in this place.
Hi Merideth,
well, I said that because I had a friend who joined under me once and was like "super lazy" in wanting to build his business and team. Left me with the "hey vern, if I don't get downlines, you build it for me ya".
I'm like "what ?" (in my brain). So, two weeks passed - he quits and comes back 2 months later and says "hows your business?" I tell him, "well what do you think ? Its great and I my team's got bigger and you could have reaped from it if you didn't quit so early"
Lessons learned :
1. Don't quit (100% in agreement with what you said in your last post) too soon!
2. Building a business takes a lot of time and effort.

Are you already "participating" with this company...or just investigating them to see if they may be something you'd be interested in?
The reason I ask is that it is a common trolling tactic online to "ask" about a company in a Forum....and provide a website link which actually belongs to the person asking the question. In other words....they're already involved and just trolling for the unsuspecting who click on "their" link.
If you ask a legitimate question....aren't affiliated with the company....and don't put a link in your post....you can ask in the General Forum. If your post....or any replies.... tend toward trolling or spamming the whole thread will just be deleted.

YES I AM INTERESTED IN YOUR BIZ OP and would like YOU to discover how to market it correctly.
It's a crying shame that so many good people are falling by the wayside, simply because they are uneducated in ways to promote their businesses.
We should all be congratulating and encouraging new people into the arena of Network Marketing and offering them good solid advise on how to really advertise their business to the right people.
There are so many opportunities available for everyone to succeed in and strive to gain their financial freedom...it's a pity their sponsors don't take them by the hand and lead them in the right direction.
Sometimes it might be that seasoned professionals overlook the time that they were newbies and had no idea what they were doing. Just flying by the seats of their pants and hoping someone was going to join their business.
Luckily, today's marketers are more savvy and know they need to be educated and need to keep up on the latest marketing strategies and techniques to successfully market thir business to the ready and waiting prospects.
Instead of telling people what not to do....it is always a good idea to solve their problems by telling them what to do to promote their business sucessfully.
Everyone can be successful if they just take the time to educate themself on the correct way to market their business.
It always comes down to understanding what works and what doesn't. We all know the statistics that 95% of people fail and usually because they lack marketing knowledge and they don't have a truly duplicatable system.
So I say let's stop pulling people down because they are trying to be successful, instead let's build them up and point them in the right direction to be successful in this wonderful, exciting and profitable industry.
So to everyone out there trying to promote your business, it's time to discover the secret of success.
Learn how to Market your business. Networking works...if you follow the networking system.
It's always good to remember that Networking leads to Not working.
