I agree with you 100% this place should not be a commercial forum, infact people who do that all they are doing is damage the reputation that network marketing has for many good people out there who are working hard and are changing the lives of many people out for the better.
Its about helping people in this forum and not creating a chaos!

Very interesting stuff to read here, and I agree with all of it. Those who post merely to exclusively put in a plug for their BIZ-OP - seem almost NON-HUMAN, and perhaps ROBOTIC. Anyway, hope you're all having a great day!

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean here... What is it about the nature of
this thread that makes you think we do not understand the 'purpose' of forums? For
curiosity's sake, would you care to share your particular philosophy with us?
I can tell you with some authority that if the tone of what we do here doesn't fit with
your personal philosophy, there are many others out there that do subscribe to
constant advertising and promotion. Just not my cup of tea...

Interesting.
I just stumbled across this thread (again) and it fits right in with a post I made on my blog, bascially towards my subscribers.
The jist of it was I am not a good prospect. Nor are people like me good prospects. My friends here are the people like me. In other words, network marketers who already have an opportunity they are happy with.
I know that any of you that have a newsletter always get reply backs just to present your subscribers opportunity. In a way I think it is rude, even though I try to be understanding and patient.
The thing I try to get across to my subscribers is what has been said here. Most networkers already have a business they are working. They don't want to quit theirs to join yours.
So they are not in their target market, or audience. But, as has already been well put, they do want training and self development products to help them progress further in the business they already have.
So if you are a network marketer (you're here right?) and you had a good product of some sort to market to other networkers you might be able to play ball, so to speak.
If you were honestly trying to help your fellow networker, (and we do need to stick together and help each other), you could make a sale, make a profit, and create a relationship of trust at the same time.
It doesn't always work that way of course. But it can.
Later on down the road that networker you sold something to and gained their trust... well they may decide the opportunity they were working was not as good as they thought. Then that person might rememeber you and contact you about your opportunity.
Even if that never happens, you still did a good thing and made a profit too.
The veterans here know this. If you are new, don't worry. There is much to learn, always will be. The people here are here to help.

I'm not a big fan of reading
very long posts especially in
forums because most of the
time unless I asked a question
then a long post would be
appreciated.
It would be nice if anyone could
pay attention to what the title
of the thread is stated in the beginning.
So, content does play part but I
do feel being very light and direct
is a key in getting attention from
almost everyone.

Hi Guys,
I'd just like to share a small insight on what I've learned so far during the last few weeks and just could be nice to start off the new year in 2007. Although, it's getting close to the middle of the year already but well. It's still not too late.
I listened to a few tapes and one of the interesting ones I came across was that business is really a meaning that a person pays or exchanges something of value (such as gold or cash) to get in exchange for a certain service or product that is provided. So, in essence we all go back to the basics of bartering.
If you begin to realise that once you have developed a sense of service and providing value added solutions to your clients or your trusted subscribers they will begin to trust you and would buy more items from you. for a well-known fact there are many things that they would buy from you but it's totally up to you to decide what they want.
Food for thought there.
As for me , I'm slowly grasping this concept

I totally understand what you are saying but, the simple truth of the matter is that evrey one who is posting in these forums has an email signature containing a link .
I noticed you have 3 so you might as well just post the actual link with your Sig. file .
I'm new here and you can correct me if I'm wrong but, it seems a bit weird to assume people aren't here to advertise .

Please read everything in this thread again.
The difference is HOW you advertise. Or put another more accurate way....how you present yourself to others.
Blatant spamming and trolling is NOT what this Forum .... or "you" .... should be about. Siglines that are tasetful (as I stated previously) are allowed. Mine use text links as that presents a more professional image as well as is more aesthetically pleasing.
And of course branding yourself by being helpful and giving to others is certainly encouraged. The latter is also at the core of our approach here.
If anyone's reason for being here is simply to advertise....in whatever way right or wrong....I'd suggest taking a step back and asking "why". The answer to that question will define where you're business and "you" are at and/or are going.
Perhaps if you had to spend hours every day cleaning out the crap folks try to put here.....ignoring any semblance of professionalism and ettiquite....you might understand better. But most folks don't see that because of the constant vigilance put into it. What you all see is the end result of this philosophy.....an online community doing things the way they should be done.

I agree that too much advertising clutters up a forum and should be limited or placed in a catagory where it is allowed. Or keep it in thier signature. However the notion that nobody who is in a biz-op already would ever want to join your biz-op is wrong. Many people that I personally work with are in more than one biz-op. They would be better off concentrating on one, but never the less many people do things that way. Also, fellow biz-op people are the exact demographic a person is looking for. Plus they may be at thier wits end with thier current program and are looking for a change. There are many good reasons to limit advertising in the forum but total ineffectivness of the ad is'nt one of them in my opinion.
