Hey mlmtorrent,
Great info. I completely agree that nobody likes the hard sell, and that building relationships is key. However, I think that short answers are fine. Most of us spend only a limited amount of time on forums and cannot afford to read or make long posts. That is not meant to insult those that make long posts. I have read some of them, and many have provided invaluable information.

Good point, mlmtorrent.
There are lots of 5 or 6 word posts that are polluting the forums, and the purpose is obvious.
However, it is also good to note that some one-sentence posts are short, sweet and to the point, and many forum participants actually prefer such posts than longer posts that just go round and round in circles.

Hi Everyone, I am new here and I think i have found my new home. I am having so much fun reading all the posts and also learning a lot. Michael, I like the way you think. On some of the other boards I go on and post, everyone seems to think it is acceptable to just start bombarding you with all these "get rich quick schemes" that are "just too good to pass up". I feel I can breathe in here. Great posts everyone.

Maybe it is a form of advertising but we are all marketers in some degree and I know in my case, I have looked at some of the posts websites and either got ideas or even signed up. It is nice here because no one is "pestering" you to do it, however it is nice to have that option. Also, it gives some idea as to the person behind the "post".

I'm really getting tired of the idiots who pop in here and don't read the rules. Then post blatant advertising in direct violation of Forum policy!

Blatant or veiled (as in trolling).
Exception....brief tasteful siglines. (forget the big pictures and banners PLEASE)
There'll be NO warning...NO discussion....you'll be banned immediately and your post(s) deleted.
PLUS...particularly aggresive and blatant spammers are reported to their parent company for disciplinary action. e.g. having your company position taken away!!!!!
I'm not playing here folks.....play nice or suffer the consequences!!!!
We want you to share ...... help others.... ask questions ......in other words NETWORK.

| I appreciate all the advice, and will try not to fall into the newbie behavior that y'all speak of. Personally, I think it is lack of confidence in self and product that makes people shamelessly spam. If they had a good product, there would be no need. A good product, and a real job, that is.

There is a lot of great info on here for those who are new. For them to learn how to use forums and not to turn other off from reading what you have to say.

Excellents points made. I know from experience that when you are a newbie, you do whatever your sponsor tells you because he is the one at the top of the comp plan. So unfortunately like in any profession there are snakes just looking to line their pockets and never really mentor the person they sponsored.
I realized I needed to take responsibility myself and learn what it takes to be a great leader. What I found out was that I needed to be a great servant.

Nope ... we've had a rash of idiots the last couple days posting blatant ad threads OR posting replies soliciting the thread author or repliers. Obvious forum violations. That stuff won't fly here.
To paraphrase a baseball commentator ... "they gone".
