Hey Merideth,
thanks for sharing and I'll be sure to check and test that out sometime. Have you had a good conversion rate for your website being showcasted on these traffic exchanges ?
In anycase, I have tried a few but they are generally generic clickers.. if you know what I mean - so I don't pay too much attention to it. However , it does work but you will have to upgrade to avoid losing credits and losing time getting credits .
regards,
Vern

well, there are two sides of the coin to that.
1. you set up a website for your mailing list online and a sale page before and while you start an ezine campaign.
2. you advertise a phone number to call for your sales center on an ezine campaign.
It should work fine, but its best to have a link that subscriber who click can be directed to.
Enjoy!

One great tip i might share with you here which has worked for me anyway is going to "How to make money seminars" and hand out to people my business cards with my website address on it. Those leads are very good ones and are targeted because those leads are pre-qualified and are looking already for a home business one way or the other.
One little secret with that i use is when people are on their way out of the seminar after it has finished is wait outside in the door way and give out to people my biz cards or leaflets, and it works very well i have signed up many people that way without cold calling them!
They go to my site and just sign up,and usualy why they do that is because what they get offered in the seminar is to expensive for them and they rather join something they can afford rather than something they cant!
You can also network with people in the seminars during break time, the people are friendly and are like minded as we are here, there is also a big chance you will also see them at another different seminar, and that way you make good friends.
And if you sign up people you meet in the seminar, you just teach them the same thing you did and the next time you go to a seminar you won't go there on your own but with a team who all share the same goal!
What i have done is register with a seminar host company who always e-mail me when a free "How to make money" seminar is available in my city, this companies arrange and promote for seminar speakers their speaking tour.
Usualy if you live in a big city there are always big FREE For all seminars on!
The following link is useful for people in the UK, I'm sure there are other companies like that in America,Canada and Australia
Like http://www.inspiredseminars.com
I hope this helps.
To Your Success!

I can see how that would be effective. Especially if you are standing outside the door at the end...people may even think that they are supposed to take whatever you are giving!
I once had a leader tell me she sat at the end of the row at one of these things and acted like she was passing something that had been given to her... Cheeky, yes- but effective.
This is certainly more targeted than just sticking flyers in everyone's windshield!

Another way is to have your car signed up. This is one of the things we do. Initial cost is nominal, park where it can be seen and keep a bunch of brochures in the car.
Also make sure your web site is there, some people will ask for a brochure, others will take a look at your website or ring you for a chat. Either way you will get new members from this.

This is an idea that I've used in my own industry of Real Estate, but I believe it can be applied in other industries as well,
Realtors are great self-starters looking to break away from the rat race by being paid for their own efforts. Most of the successful and semi-successful are very much into self-development and they are interested in making big money.
Most real estate offices have a section where "affiliate service providers" such as, home inspectors, termite companies, marketing consultants, title company reps, escrow office reps etc... can leave a flyer or card in all the realtor's boxes.
You can approach one of these providers and volunteer to take their flyers and deliver it to real estate offices... what's in it for you?
Your flyer, card post card or message can also tag along for the ride and be placed inside the boxes of the agents.
Agents will retrieve their stuff and go back to their cubicle or office and review what they have. They just may be curious about your website, recorded call or what ever...
No cost way to get in front of a pretty good market...

Hi,
I have used the search engine: "Search Big Daddy"
for a while now, and I must say it seems to be very
interesting, and I can really see the potential there,
to get some targeted traffic, and also to make some
extra cash when I start to promote it.
Is there anyone else here that might have some expe-
erience from Search Big Daddy?
Sincerely
Henrik

A while ago I joined Big Daddy.
Whilst I haven't spent anything on the more enhanced features, I have started to question whether or not the considerable hype and exposure is really justified.
Don't get me wrong. It does all it says it does, and it does have some uses, but a few things have caused me to begin to doubt it's effectiveness.
Firstly, the search results found are markedly different to those of the main search engines.
'sponsored' listings seem to appear in the main results list, creating a false sense of the relevance of the results.
A couple of days ago, I wanted to find information on any affiliate program running for a good peice of software I use, and wanted to offer to my site visitors.
I simply couldn't get to such information via SearchBigDaddy as the software and company titles are quite generic.
A search on google took me straight to the companies info page on their program.
The other reservation I have, is whether it is exclusively used only by fellow internet marketers.
How much use will it be for those promoting sites aimed at consumers?
Then, let's say a consumer does use it and wants information on Pet Poodles.
Do they get that actual information or info on how to buy adsense-ready sites on pet poodles?
Then there is the much-promoted blog area.
I got quite excited about this and the potential for selected keywords to be utilized across the platform.
As I do sell to other marketers that would be using the system, this looked promising.
Unfortunately I found that the 'blog' I was promised isn't in anyway customizable and isn't even able to be named by me.
It seems to be purely a link vehicle and to not have much potential as an actual source of useful information.
As I say, I haven't gone that deep into the system so I may be missing something.
If anyone else has had similar or different experiences, do please share.
If the promotions are to be believed and I am in error, it would be foolish to miss out on this opportunity.
If however, my reservations are justified, given the relatively high ticket price of many of the enhancements, it could be a drain on our marketing budget.

Further to the "Help Wanted" idea, you could advertise a free job search booklet.
You can create one by researching some helpful job search ideas and then writing it in clear, easy to understand language.
Within the booklet, you can also have a section on how to create "Income for Life" and then discuss the benefits of them also investing time each week on building their financial freedom using your opportunity.
It is important to make sure that the job search tips are valid and real and that the booklet gives great value.

Here's another inventive idea for you to chew on:
Participating in community charity activities. Just that simple....but with lot's of potential.
For example..... how about your group running in a local 5K for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.....all wearing T-shirts with your group/business name on it. Carry a sign across the finish line with "The Yada Yada company running for a cure" (or whatever....be more creative than that obviously....LOL). Talk to media covering the event. Network with fellow participants. Be involved.
How about your group volunteering to help at functions for your local YMCA ....or local library....or rec center....or PTA...or.... you get the idea.
Have something like a sign, banner, T-shirts that say who you are. But don't pass out brochures and company material. Just network and create visibility. Maybe have a few business cards in your pocket and hand them only to those who ask. You could also have brochures etc. in your car maybe.
Just DON'T make it look like a big marketing gimic. The public will see right through it. Instead create an identity & branding within your community. This establishes a sense of acceptance and curiosity you can build upon by following up with contacts made during these events.
We have a couple groups who apply this concept very well in our annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life. You could too.
Remember to adhere to any "rules" of the specific event sponsor and your particular company.
Basically....just be seen & have fun.
God Bless,
Michael

What do you think of this idea?
I have never done it,it may work ,it may not.
It costs ZERO money so the risk is zero.
You can place FREE Help Wanted ads at your local Unemployement office.
In our case we would put it under the section SALES.
Now,most people there are looking for a 9-5 job
and and an hourly rate but,,,,,what if you got just
two good people out of it?
Has anyone tried this?
MM It is deceptive also, so that is another reason not to do it. Many places have a rule that you have to be a bona fide employer and not selling a business opportunity. I tried advertising in this way in the past and you are not going to find people looking for a business. Many companies use this tactic and even talk to people like they are offering a job and conduct interviews with people. I think it is unethical to use this approach. These are just my opinions of course and you are free to think about it how you like. I think if you want to get people who are truly going to do something, you have to be 100% honest with them 100% of the time.

msmelanie wrote: Writing articles is a very good way to generate publicity.
The problem I've had is how to track which publications actually generate the most leads. I have many domain names that are very descriptive and inspire people to click - but I still dont have enough to cover every place could submit to. If I chose to simply track clicks, then I could use a tracking url - but then I'd lose the impact of a good domain name.
If the site you are referring them to is yours, you may have tracking for your site. I have it on my site and I can see where the traffic is coming from. WhenI see traffic coming from sites I have been using it shows me it is working and also it encourages me to keep at whatever it is I am doing.

Yes, you could do site tracking and more importantly to know
what works and all thats great.
But I guess this discussion belongs in the article thread.
However, Michael was suggesting if we have any 'other'
alternative to produce advertising without spending a fortune.
I'm sure you have some suggestions too m2mentor ?
Hope to hear some input from you ...

| Before I actually had an advertising "budget" I used Press Releases as a great way of getting traffic to my site (I still use them a bit, but there is a limit to how much "press" one business should self generate lol). There is a small learning curve to this only because if you don't know how to write a PR you can come off sounding like a moron who nobody would want to join with in business. But if you can keep the hype and fluff down, the information short, sweet, and "unbiased" you should be able to generate some fairly decent targeted traffic to your site, and the best thing is Press release sites (because their content is always changing) is they indexed by the Search Engines quickly (like forums) and tend to have some weight as far as their ranking, especially in Google. So if you want to hit the first page for a certain reasonably competitive keyword quickly, try a series of press releases with your lead capture page or company info page url in the signature, the Press release will help drag your website toward the top of the search engine. I hope this helps.

Hello Vern
well, i dont really take it as charity because it make me feel wonderful so it benefit me as well.
At my home town we have a place called "meaning center" the place is funded by the municipality and by donations.
One of the activits provid basic computer skills training to people that have no knowledge and i mean not at all (50-90years old) or have a computer fear.
I'm sure that you have something that you know and can find a place that will gladly will give you the stage.

Yes this is very good information. You can also do the same with writing articles and distributing them.
