Great title!
And I should know because I'm a WAHM copywriter/internet marketing consultant!
I also like this quote...I'm not sure who said it...
"Insanity is doing the exact same thing over and over again expecting different results."
Best,
SM

Also,
- adopt the UNSTOPPABLE attitude - most people can be stopped too easily.
- if you expect some great results, ask yourself: "Is the cause in place?"
- don't strive for perfection in the beginning. Remember that everything worth doing, is worth doing poorly.
- act like the person you want to be would act.
- realize that ordinary things, consistently done, produce extraordinary results.
- focus, focus, focus. It's true that you should develop as many income streams as possible, but ONE AT A TIME!!!
- stop learning and start DOING!!!

Hi Everyone,
Positive thinking, I love it! Keep it Rolling!
I was looking for ways to find more traffic for my venture and found a lot of advice here. I just want to say hi and thanks for all the good info. I'm really new at all this, and figuring out just how to make my signature link work, took me a few hours. But as you can see I didn't give up.
Thanks Again,
Shirl

Positive thinkin definitely helps...
but a well thought out plan and excellent tools also make the difference between failure and success.
What is your biggest frustration in building an online business?
Mine is patience and getting more leads or customers. Any suggestions?

Life is about quitting...If you want to succeed in your chosen field you have to quit all of those negative attitudes that you have...

Did you know that the Dr. Suess book was rejected 27 times before a publisher finally said yes? Or that the author of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling, was turned down twice?
I wouldn't want to be the one who turned her book away!
The point I'm trying to make is that it doesn't matter what your business is - it's not easy to get rejected - and it makes you want to quit.
But just keep going!
There are always going to be bumps and potholes along the journey, but if you stay the course, you WILL succeed.
I agree with the saying quitters never win...and winners never quit.
Every time I get a new copywriting job or new product to launch...I feel a bit scared and overwhelmed...like I'm somehow a fraud!
I've learned from experience that it's natural to want to quit when you're feeling overwhelmed, and I've been told by the top copywriters in the business that they have the same types of feelings.
That's why I just dive right in...get to work...and don't give myself the option of quitting.
Best,
Sonja

I never much liked the Dr. Suess stories, but my kids adored them. Now JK Rowlings is another issue. This is a woman I admire. I single mom scratching notes on napkins in a restuarant becomes a multimillionaire and a renowned author. This is a creative women with stamina and determination!
You can only fail when you quit!

Great advice.
One really needs to consider that before you make the plunge into the internet, you have to educate yourself for success.
Take what you have learned from past experiences and apply them to making your venture profitable.
Any learning curve can be overcome if you are willing to put in the time and effort to do it. Quitting is easy. Learning is hard but life changing. Be willing to take the risk to change your life.
To your effort,
John

Just avoid failing to succeed by choosing the RIGHT company! Don’t decide on a company too fast but take your time and choose wisely. It doesn’t make sense if you fall for "BEST Compensation Plan Ever", or "Greatest Marketing System Ever" or something like that.
Go for substance, go for scientific proof behind the products, go for well written- and sold books (e.g. written by the founder of this company) and go for USP’s.
Many NM companies out there have the "Coolest & Best Product of All Time", but little to offer in terms of real value for future customers. You should rather choose a company that concentrates on a few high quality products, backed by strong scientific research.
In that way you’ll never fail!
Regards, Peter

I agree finding the right company is very important. How do you do that? Due Diligence! Please make sure the company you are associated with is legitimate and credible. Once you find that company STICK WITH THEM! You need to give a business some time to get off the ground. Jumping from opportunity to opportunity is breeding failure.
The product you are promoting is as valuable as the company. Some companies have a product only because it is required. It is wise to Promote a product that can stand on it's own two feet. In other words can be sold in stores and is useful and actually makes someone's life better.
Having the right company and the right product are a large part of the puzzle, but having the right attitude, expecting great success and the willingness to be consistent and persistent are the framework of the puzzle.
To Your Success,
Patricia

2 problems that persist is first most people don't treat their business like a business and secondly most people don't know how to market whether it be online or offline and then because they want instant gratification and don't get it a lot of people quit on their dreams and the reasons why they started a business in the first place

yes, yes, and yes.
Some people treat their business like a hobby and the results they get will reflect that attitude. Not much you can do about that other than be more particular in whom you recruit.
It is true a lot of people do not have marketing experience online or off but if you are coachable and trainable it can be learned and for a lot less money then a college education. You also do not have any old school beliefs or bad habits to break. Choosing a team of marketers that are successful, experienced, have been around for a while and who are willing to share there knowledge and techniques should be part of your due diligence. The best learning is through experience and following those who have successfully created what you desire. While you will still have some challenges and stepping stones your learning curve can be cut in half.
Robert Kiyosaki co-author of "Why We Want You To Be Rich" recommends Internet marketing for those who want to change and get the necessary skills and attitude training it takes to be successful in business. "Where could you find a business that will invest the time in your education, your personal development and building your own business. The answer is: most network-marketing businesses. "
Instant gratification has no place in business online or off! It just doesn't happen that way. If a company is promising overnight success, best to go the other way.
Hey, I am a student of learning now and for the rest of my life. I certainly am not an expert in business, marketing, or personal development. This simply reflects my personal beliefs and opinions. Those people out there that truly want to change their lives, have enough vision to see their future as they desire, and are willing to do whatever it takes to succeed will get results.
Those that believe they can will, those that believe they cannot won't.
Best Wishes,
Patricia

Great post Patricia!
I agree that you have to have an open mind and be trainable and coachable.
One of the main things you learn in college and in life is that you never stop learning...and if you do stop learning, then you die! Well, maybe not quite.
Speaking of training and coaching, what do you find the most effective? One-on-one, telephone conferencing, seminars?
Everyone has a unique learning style, but I think face-to-face is the best.
Any thoughts?
Best,
Sonja
