IF AT FIRST YOU DONT SUCCEED - QUIT!

If you don’t succeed at first: quit crying, quit thinking negatively, quit dwelling on the worst case scenario, quit your "I can't" attitude, quit quitting, quit not living up to who you are, quit listening to cancerous people, quit making excuses, quit blaming others, quit defeat, quit stopping, quit your fears!!! QUIT DOING WHAT THE AVERAGE PERSON WOULD DO. My friend, you are set apart for success, it is wired into you and that is why you stepped out in the first place.

God Bless,
Michael

That's great advice, i remember hearing another twist to that cliche by paul scheele founder of learning strategies corporation. He said: "if at first you don't succeed ..... you're normal" - so try again.

I agree that you have to have an open mind and be trainable and coachable.

One of the main things you learn in college and in life is that you never stop learning...and if you do stop learning, then you die! Well, maybe not quite.

Speaking of training and coaching, what do you find the most effective?  One-on-one, telephone conferencing, seminars?

Everyone has a unique learning style, but I think face-to-face is the best.

Any thoughts?

Best,
Sonja

I feel face to face is best but not always feasible. My company has 3 conferences and 2 seminars a year at which time there is a lot of great training "face to face". We also have 17 or so training calls a week with top marketers flat out telling you exactly what they do to get their results and how they do it. There is also a lot of support and encouragement as we all know you need to stick with it to get results. So there are no excuses if you stay plugged into the training.

Personally, I can always get something out of every type of training, even if it is something I have attended or listened to before. I love seminars and conferences and  am really getting into webinars these days as I learn better when I can interact.

Partners in success,

Patricia

I like this...simple and to the point.

Combines due diligence, commitment, continued growth, and effort/work ethic all in one.  Remember...the output is a direct result of the input.  ;)

God Bless,

Michael

I concur but what if you don't pick the right company? Should you quit then?

You know I tried a few traditional businesses and I was with some MLM companies. All of the MLM businesses failed but here I am years later with my own MLM business and it's a success. Should I have continued or should I have quit?

McDonalds takes over $1 million for their franchise. First you have to pay to be on the waiting list then you're told that you shouldn't expect any profits for 5 years. I know someone who waited over 8 years total to break a profit. There's also a $40K annual renewal fee, and if they want to McDonalds Corp can reclaim ownership of the store if they so please. However, do you know of anyone who wouldn't invest in McDonalds, the largest land owner in the world?

Ask your new business partner if they'd be willing to fail for 5 years in order to get the rest of their life right? Ask any qualifying question before you decide to invest your money and time into them because most people don't understand that it's the recruiter who works for the recruit.

Great post Michael, you're totally right.

One more thing I'd like to add is "quit doing the things that don't lead to success". In my own mlm organizations, usually when someone is not having success or at least making forward movements toward it, it's because they spend the better part of their day doing things that don't really contribute to success.

I often tell people... if you had to draw a straight line from where you are now to where you want to be, what would that line consist of?

I usually get the correct answers, such as 1) meeting new people to share my products and opportunity with 2) advertising 3) training and motivating my team, etc

But then when I help people evaluate what they are doing with most of their time, they see that most of their time is spent doing OTHER things besides what they should be doing, such as...

Reading about other opportunities, trying to find some magic secret that's going to make them rich overnight, trying to get their downline to do all the work, etc.

I try to step back and evaluate what I'm spending my time on at least weekly.

Everyone experiences times of lowered motivation or lowered results, but if it's long term, usually it's because for some reason or another, they've stopped doing the TASKS that they already know they need to be doing.

Sometimes it's as simple as pointing this out... and the fire gets relit, and they start seeing results almost instantly. Crazy how much of an impact ACTION makes, isn't it?

Just as it states in "Think & Grow Rich" when 500 of the most successful people were interviewed, a great portion of them succeeded after they met with what appeared as temporary failure.

Walt Disney went bankrupt a few times before he succeeded. If you study and read biographies it reveals that success comes with persistency and consistency.

Great thread, thank you for sharing.

expect miracles,

Do not quit!!
That is the worst advice I have ever heard in my life.

Before I made my $1,000's I failed TONS and TONS of times!!
Most people don't succeed their first time around.
Keep trying & just be careful out there.

Kudos to all!

Anton,

Reread what I wrote.  You misinterpreted the point entirely.  Note what i did say "to quit".

These are great posts!  Having the "Failure is not an option" attidude has done wonders for my business.  With any business, it's a matter of  finding your passion, dedicating time to the "right" activities, and being the best mentor possible.

It's not as easy as it sounds, but it sure is alot of FUN when you are working your passion each and every day.

I would like to make a change to my earlier post.  I said that I have quit in the past, but that is no longer an option.  However, the only reason that quitting is no longer an option is that I finally found the right opportunity for me.    The opportunities that I was involved with before were just not my cup of tea, and I knew it.  There is no reason to stay with a company that you don't believe in.  Sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs before you find your prince.  It is the same with network marketing.  Sometimes you have to be involved with less desirable ops before you recognize the true value of a great one.

Quitting is not a solution, you need to try out a different approach or another strategy, and keep a positive atitude.

Persistence and Consistency is Absolutely Key.

If you do not quit you will have the results. Every seed of failure does come with an equivalent success. Too many people are so close to success and then quit right before the success would show.

Relentless peristence and not quitting are the characteristics of all top entrepreneurs.

All entrepreneurs all have a dream-struggle-victory story.

Before building my current business, I was a part of traditional mlm, 3 years spent over $15,000, drove tons of miles, attended monthly meetings, flew to 3 annual meetings.

Since I was relentless to have the results, I did not quit. Everything happens for a reason and brings you one step closer.

From this experience I wrote a list of all of the characteristics and components I was looking for in a business, system, business plan, products, team support, mentorship, compensation, marketing and sales solution, etc. Then I wrote a list and started searching for an opportunity with a specific intent from the past failure.

I am grateful for "not quitting" and "persistence" because this led me to make monthly within a few months what I spent over a few years.

Do Not Quit, Hold on To Your Dreams! Persist, You Deserve to Have It All.

To Everyone's Success, Abundance, & Happiness,

Aniko'
