Hi Ya'll,

This an awesome coaching tip by Ralph M. Enjoy...

Your best why's...

For everything you do, there is a reason why. It may be silly, it may be profound, but in every case there is some reason or other.

There are those things you gladly do, those things you reluctantly do, and those things you put off until the last possible moment. For each one of those things, there is a reason why.

If you were to think about each why before you acted on it, consider what would happen. Many of those things that only end up causing regret and dismay, you'd never do at all. And those things that bring value and accomplishment, you'd find yourself doing more and more.

Because instead of blindly following any old why, you'd pick the ones that matter most.

Life is filled with whys, yet following them all is not very wise. Decide to follow the ones that mean the most to who you are and the person you would like to become.

Think of the why behind what you do, before you ever do it. Pick the whys that matter most, and you'll get where you truly want to go.

God Bless,
Michael

This is a GREAT point, I truly believe if you can find that 'why', that moment you said, 'here is my credit card, sign me up, no matter what it takes, I will make this opportunity work for me' you can succeed in anything you pursue, given it is a trustworthy company with a good product and service. Finding that why is so important, and when you find it, you feel it, like you are there and you are thinking, "with this extra money, I will get out of debt, or buy a new pet, or buy a new corvette" if you can recognize your 'why' hold it in your mind, see it, feel it, smell it, touch it, taste it, and work hard to acheive it, do what you need to do, stay motivated, keep learning, keep teaching, the words is yours!

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the tip.  It came just as I'm going through all the clutter that has built up in my office.  WHY didn't I just file it to begin with?!  LOL

Very thought provoking words.  It is true whether consciously or unconsciously, that "why" Is WHY we make a lot of the decisions that we do.

Take for instance starting a home based business.  Why would  I want to do something like that?  Don't get me wrong, I have a good job that pays very well. I thank God everyday for it.  It helps me provide for my family.  However it is physically demanding.  I am usually very sore and very tired at the end of a 10 hour work day.  Since I am in my 50's it doesn't take a whole lot to tire me out.  Bottom line is at the end of the day I don't want to feel like that anymore, and I don't want my wife to feel like that either.

So that is "WHY" I started a homebased business!

Oh Michael...how did I never post to this thread?  This is by far, my favorite subject to talk about!

If you cannot clearly identify your WHY, you will never succeed in any online business (or any business for that matter!).  There will always be distraction, hardship, frustration or
you may just be tired...  But if you're serious about making a positive change for you and your family, you need to take a few minutes for yourself and truly examine your motivations.  Do you want more money?  Do you want to be your own boss?  Do you want to retire your spouse and yourself? Do you want the freedom to send your kids to college on your own dime?

Find your motivation and keep it in front of you always.  That is the most important thing I will ever tell you...

To Your Greater Success,
Merideth

The KEY factor in being successful in the Business world, its having a HUGE WHY!

You WHY has to be enough to make you cry!

So here's my WHY:  We always dreamed of having our Condo in the Bahamas  and truly being able to live life the way we want to and to be financially set free!

Im your typical everyday type person, no frills attached, I dont claim to be anything that Im not.

Will I get my dream? you betcha because my drive, determination and my WHY is larger than life itself.

I put everything I have into reaching my goal infact I even think I sleep it:D

So cheers to our WHY"S!

Wanda

May I add...

An inquisitive mind is the key to a wealth of knowledge.

Maybe a little out of point here, but I think the deeper meaning of the word "why" rather than to search for the impetus of actions, is the reasoning for behaviours. When one does search for the latter "why", it is when he gains.

Hehe... feeling a little philosophical today!

Hi Michael,

How are you doing? I am Kelvin Edmund and would like to say that what you said about the why is so true. Because all our motivations for doing something and seeing through is based on why we are doing it. It has been proven that if we do not have a big enough why the slighest chance that we encounter a set back or we hit a glitch we give up. But I Learnt that if your why is bigger than you, you would always be motivated to see it through no matter what.

Once again thanks for the encouragement.

Sincerely

Kelvin

Hi all

Having a "why" is really important.

Years ago when I set my goals, I wrote down that I wanted a Jaguar Sports Car.  However, years later I'd not even started on achieving it.

It was only when I studied Coaching that I found out the importance of the "why" behind a goal.  I didn't have a "why" for getting the Jag; however, I did have a "why" for being able to  have a working life that allowed me more time with my family.  As soon as I set that goal, I started working towards it.

I have written a small e-booklet entitled "Setting Meaningful Goals - The First Step to Your Fantastic Future!" which shows you a system for setting goals, focusing on the "why" and giving you a "points system" to show you how important your goals are to you in relation to each other.

You can get it FREE here:

I do. I have a picture of a new condo building that is being built in Penticton. Beside it I have a picture of the lake from the view. To me that means freedom to enjoy beautiful views of the Okanagan Valley and of course it is from the top floor :)

I know that is a what but the why means freedom for me.

I also have a picture of myself 60 lbs ago I went to the doctor last month and my cholesterol and triglycerides are way too high so another of my whys is to get healthy again so I can enjoy life the way it is meant to be enjoyed.

Cheers,

Rhonda

I strongly believe that this is EXACTLY the first step we all need to take with new enrollees into our businesses!...The Why or Purpose for even getting in. If people are just hoping to make alot of cash and don't have a strong sense of purpose, they will ultimately fail most of the time!

It is our responsibility as the upline or sponsors to drill this into our team. If you help enough other people get what they want, you can have anything you want in life!

My purpose in my Home based businesses is to ultimately free up more of my time. With financial independence comes freedom. With freedom of time comes the ability to: do more at church, participate in more charitable activities in the community, make a difference in childrens' lives that dont have a father or mother, and to spend more time with friends and family. God bless to each of you in your efforts! See you at the top!

I get Fired Up helping people develop the "why".  To say that it's important is an understatement.  It is crucial to a person success!  If a person's "Why" is not developed, then in my opinion, they are just doing their business to "See what happens".  We all know, or should know, that things just don't happen.  We need to make them happen.  Having a strong enough why gives us the ability to go out there and do the activities and actions that will lead to successes.

Your "Why" is the first aspect of building a dynasty.  Especially in network marketing.  We all have a "why" within us.  Some of us take a bit longer to find our "why" but I believe that we all do have a "why".  Once you find your "why" you have to become passionate about it.  I believe that only then will you truly be able to figure out how to achieve the "whats" that you truly desire.

This brings me to my second point, equally as important.  Once you figure that out your "why".... you need to start to concentrate on the "How to's".  Let's face it, we can get all jazzed up and pumped up and motivated.  But until we learn how to take that energy and place it into action to build a dynasty, we are nothing more than "loose cannons".

So get your "Why", then develop a plan.

HC

You are right on.
Too many people join a business without a clear why. I know I didn't have one when I joined and it definately influenced my success in the early days.

Those are words of wisdom for those who are actively building a home based.  And, yes...you're right.  A lot of people start off without this being clearly defined.  It is part of the sponsors duty to help develop it....or at least get the new person to start to think about it.  Once a sponsor has done this, chances are that new person will be more grounded in their new found opportunity.:D

A why must be powerful enough to sustain you in difficult times. It must be strong enough that you won't quit at signs of trouble.
Like most areas in life, network marketers experience people who are liars...people crossline try to 'steal' each other's downlines...There's backstabbing etc...True leaders with strong compelling why's are not swayed by these events. They understand that this is normal. More importantly they focus on the reliable and honest distributors in their organisation instead of complaining and whining about who stole what and who's giving the business a bad name.
We all can get caught up bashing others in the same business who may be doing it differently or who might be hurting the image of the business.
Be strong on your why...Here are a few tips taken directly from the ebook "Success In 10 Steps" written by my mentor/coach Michael Dlouhy.
•What does your family mean to you?
•What do you want for your own personal growth?
•What you want to accomplish in your lifetime?
•What scares you to death?
•What would it mean to you to help others change their lives?

We hear a lot of talk about our "why".  It must be stronger than the fears that we have to overcome to become successful. For some, it is a definting moment, for others, a gradual awakening desire.

For myself, I had tried Network Marketing, I had a why, but it wasn't that strong. I failed. Simple.

A bout 2 months ago, I had one of the worst days emotionally at work that I can remember.  My work entails a lot of physical. I have been recovering from burnout, so with the physical work, I was tired all the time. Tired to the point of not being able to talk to anyone. Then came that day. I went home that night and said to my wife "Something is got to to change. I'm not going to live like this any more." Three days later I had an injury that put me off work for about 3 weeks. That's when I decided to pursue on-line business. I haven't looked back. And I won't. My family is behind me 100% because they want me home. I've encountered the odd temptation to quit, but I'm in for the long haul.

I heard on a conference call recently something that I think applies here.
The topic was goals and time frames. Some say six months, some one year, some 2yrs. If our why is as strong as it needs to be, we will have a time frame "As long as it takes".
