Absolutely! I have a cork board in my office full of visual representations of my goals....very motivating. I'll often meditate on them for a few minutes and actually try to put myself in the picture and feel what it will be like. Try it....
Blessings...

It really took me a while to get to the real WHY of things.
I was tired of working so many hours when I first got into all of this. Back then, that's what I thought was my why. Someone on the Rich Dad forum kindly pointed out to me that wasn't a real why.
My upline and I sat for a long while one day because I told him I thought I had no heart. That nothing really touched me deeply enough to motivate me through the DIP. I've reflected and now I have them.
I also have goals but they aren't the same as my big WHY's. What makes me Cry at night type of WHY.
#1. I want children. I don't want to be poor with children I want to be the kind of mom that can go to soccer games and volleyball games and plays and concerts and whatever the heck else my kids are doing. Right now, I have a step daughter. Her father and I are building a legacy for her and her future siblings.
2. I want to retire my dad. He was a single father for most of my life and he did a wonderful job. I am one of 9 kids (I have a step-mom and some step- siblings now) and my brother and I never went without. He taught me how I didn't want to spend my life. He made me get a job and hate it all through high school and college so that I would work for what I wanted. He showed us how to give to people who didn't have what we did. Just an all around great man. My life is better because I have known him. Not just because he had me.
3. I want to be able to travel the world. Go everywhere see everything and help fix what needs fixin.
Your why is deffinitely important. It has made all the difference.
Liz

It's interesting, I work fulltime for an airline company, I'm also an artist and whenever I truly looked at why I wanted to earn more money it always boiled to doing what I love fulltime and that is creating art.

You can also use "Why" in reverse. There's a theory called "The 5 Why's" in operational management and when you are faced with a problem you just asky "why" and by the 5th "why" you typically get to your root cause
For example:
"I'm Poor" Why?
"Because I don't make enough money." Why?
"Because I'm in a dead end job." Why?
"Because I didn't learn the skills necessary to get a better job."Why?
"Because I'm lazy"
In this scenario, "I'm Poor" has the root cause of "I'm Lazy" and many people focus on the symptom instead of the real problem their entire lives.
These 5 "why's" have served me well over the years!

Hey guys,
I love what I am reading here.
My why has always been I want to help other people fire their bosses.
in doing so, I will automatically get everything I want because of my willingness to help other people.
The passion and the love of this business is the relationships you get as a result of doing it, as well as just becoming the very best you that you can be.
The money and the stuff is just the icing on the cake of life.

Another item that can't be overlooked when discussing leaders and driven inspirations.
They all have a "WHY".
They all have something that motivates them to no end. Something that keeps them going. Day after day. It has nothing to do with the creation of wealth.
What keeps you going?
Is it your children and providing them with a better future?
Are you passionate about your products and services?
Maybe you have grandchildren. Regardless of what makes you 'tick', you must have a strong reason 'why'. You'll have good days and bad ones.
It's your 'why' that will give you the strength to pull through those rough days.
Ultimately, the success of the wealthy (and yours too) boils down to 2 critical things:
1. They're persistent and don't give up. Nothing stops them. Whether it's things taking place in their personal life, financial woes, personal and financial loss, etc. It makes no difference. They continue to persevere and bounce back like a yo-yo. Are you persistent? Do you easily give up and call it quits after a set back?
2. They understand the relevance of helping others. They thoroughly comprehend "The Law Of Success". The more they give back and help others they more they will receive in return.
Growing a business takes a tremendous amount of "doing". NOT, thinking about "doing".
How many others do you plan on helping others today, tomorrow and for the month? People truly need and desire to have your products and services. Are you going to reach out and help them
find what you already have?
It makes no difference what you're marketing. Juice, vitamins, internet security, etc...people need what you have. It's your job to find those people (or have them find you, which will address in an upcoming issue) and provide them with what they're looking for.
In closing, I present you with a small "to do list". Although extremely simple, this is critical to your success. Doing these items will allow you to be more focused and have a better grasp on your objectives:
1. Create your reason "why". What keeps you motivated? What drives you to not stop and to never give up?
2. Ask yourself, "How many people you're going to help?" For the day, week and month. Baby steps here. It must be realistic. Something you know without doubt that you're completely capable of accomplishing. There's nothing wrong with starting out with extremely small numbers here. The important thing is that you start. Today. Not tomorrow. We all have reasons and excuses why we can't or why we won't do something.
If your "why" is strong enough you will prevail.
Get it done. Make it happen.
Positively influence the lives of those around you.
Traveling this journey with you...
Frank Tocco
P.S. Remember, goals and targets are great, but action steps are A MUST to obtain success.

If you are to achieve something, or anything at all, then you have to have a stong enough reason "WHY" you want to do it.
Everything happens for a reason. So if your reason is powerful enough, then you will knuckle down and make sure you achieve your goals.
Nothing happens if there is not a strong enough "WHY".
To the top,
Wyatt

I've given a lot of thought to this one myself. On another post i wrote that i am just sick and tired of calling Dead Beat prospects. They all need this business, they all need this product, they want to make more money, they want to get out of debt, etc. But when it comes down to doing something about it, they don't have any money, or they don't have the time, or they think MLM is just a scam, excuse after excuse. They don't want to "do," they just want to complain about their circumstances and make excuses for not DOing something about it.
What separated me from them? what made me different? Why did i act when they just sit and complain? Like them, I needed this product, i needed to make more money, i needed to do something about it. Why did i take that next step, and they don't? I think you guys have a valid point. My why is not needing money, though i do need it. My why goes much deeper than that. My why is an utter disatisfaction combined with a deep desire.
It's an utter disatisfaction with living the way i had been living, paycheck to paycheck, being in debt, being in bondage to a job, having to struggle to make ends meet. And, it's a deep desire to have more time with my family, time to do the things i want to do, for them, for me. My circumstances have always gotten in the way of this. They have stood for years in opposition to my dreams. What changed? I got mad! I finally became mad enough, motivated enough, to DO, not just wish. I came to the point that i despised my circumstances, i WANTED to be, HAD to be, would never be satisfied until i was, FREE! Nothing was going to stand in the way, nothing was going to hinder me, nothing!
You see, it's not money, it's FREEDOM! The same thing that drives me is what i have to offer other people, FREEDOM! I hold the key to make their life better. I have the solution to their problem, even if they don't know they HAVE a problem. This is what keeps me going, when all the odds seem stacked against me, when all the nay sayers are crying "nay," when all the pooh poohers are saying MLM is a scam, my company is a scam. The real difference is the fact that those Dead Beats are not angry enough, their desire is not strong enough, they have become used to, comfortable with, their situation in life. They don't like it, they would like to change it, but they don't really want to, or they would.
A psychology professor of mine once said, "people do what they want to do, not what they need to do." We all need to be more healthy, we all need to be more financially responsible, we all need to, fill in the blank. But we don't eat better, quit smoking, save money. Why? Because we want that cheeseburger, that cigarrette, that new toy. Those why's keep people from DOing. My why KEEPS me doing. Simple. Not easy, but simple.
So much fo rmy amature psychology lesson. LOL!

Hey Hayes,
Most of the prospects that we have in mlm are indeed dead beat ones, who expect something for nothing. So much for losers.
I always get emails from my prospects saying that they are interested to join me, but chickened out when I ask them to give me at least 3 strong enough reasons WHY they want to join, and after they joined they have to put in lots of hard work.
That's fine by me. At least in this way I can sort out the winners from the large pile of losers.
To the top,
Wyatt

| Thanks, Wyatt. It's sad, isn't it. I mean, we hold the key to their financial freedom, but they won't reach out and take it. We have the tools they need, the plan they need, even the abiltity to hand those tools over and teach them how to use them, but they just won't do it. They'd rather make thier pathetic little excuses, then go to the 7-11, buy their six pack of beer and sit on the front porch and complain about how life isn't fair, how they can't get a break, when they have walked away from the very "break" that can set them free. LIke i said, it's sad.

Everyone has a big WHY they want to own their time instead of trading it for dollars in a JOB so they can do the things they're passionate about...but are they willing to get a big DO to get the results they want?
I hear it time and time again...people on the other end of the phone or who send an email who don't understand why they aren't seeing the results they want. They want it REALLY bad and their WHY is big.
But when I ask them about their DO...they often can't recall the last 5-things they did for their business.
This is a reminder to everyone...myself included...even as a leader, I need to consistently CHECK MYSELF that my DO is in line with where I want to go.
This doesn't mean you need a "full time" DO to get results...if you take a little action each day if you have a JOB...in 3-6 months you'll have a DO that will serve you well and could have you transitioning into doing your business full time.
You've got a big WHY...now make sure you're increasing and developing a big DO!

Too often folks confuse their "why" with a "what".
For example......having true time freedom to spend as YOU decide (rather than your "boss" decides....such as with your family) is a why.
Wanting a fancy Hummer is a "what".
The "why" is a more powerful, longer lasting motivator you can lean on.
So find your true "why" and follow it.
God Bless,
Michael

Hey!
It takes so much time to grow a Network Marketing company. You have to sacrifice so many hours away from your family and friends. It takes patience and dedication. Sometime, we get discourage because it doesn’t work the way we would like to. You feel like giving up. You need encouragement to continue.
A question that you must ask yourself to give you a push, you have probably heard it before, is this: Why I’m doing this? You big why. Maybe, you do it for your family, to provide them a beautiful house, a nice car, shelters, to quit your present job, etc.
For me, I would like to quit my job and grow my Network Marketing business full time. I would like to play golf more often and travel more all over the world more. So, I have to find ways to grow it and I don’t get discourage. Sometime, I don’t have the results I want. But, it’s OK I have to have faith.
What is your why?
Find it and get encourage.
bye for now
Hugo

Interesting how this topic of discussion comes back around ever so often. I suppose it's because we all need to be encouraged to reassess our "why," the driving need, want or desire that compelled us to seek out an opportunity to own our own business, be our own boss, and most importantly, realize the dream! I know I need to regularly, every month or so, get alone and refocus, rekindle the flame, revisit my motivation center thus re-energizing my mind and my heart so that I can press on in the face of self doubt, obstacles, slow times, and the like.
My big why? In a word FREEDOM. I want the freedom to spend my time, my money, my life doing the things that are important to ME! I want to be able to retire with a security and financial independence. I want to be free from debt, free from having to punch a clock, free from having to work at a J.O.B.! Family, Friends, Church, those are the important things in life. Working for someone else, on their schedule, with their rules, at their convenience all work against those important things.
What's my big "WHY?" FREEDOM
Mitch
