With all the emphasis on online marketing, most people are probably forgetting one of the most powerful means of advertising available.

I'm talking about classified advertising in newspapers. Most people are aware of what you have to do to place an ad in a daily or weekly newspaper, but did you know there are companies that will place your ad in literally hundreds of papers with circulation's in the millions for pennies per ad? Instead of paying the ridiculously high ad rates newspapers charge for a single classified, you can get that very same ad placed in hundreds of newspapers for pennies. Usually about $0.20-$0.30 per ad.

Another good thing is that many of these newspapers will accept business opportunity ads too. Below is a list of a few companies you can contact or visit their web sites and see the prices of their advertising packages. Think about it, one ad that draws a response rate of .05%, that's 1/2 of 1 percent, on a circulation of 4 million can bring in $10,000-$20,000 in a very short period of time. Your cost for this type of ad. About $250-$450. These companies also offer less expensive packages if you just want to test an ad. But this type of advertising works. You can post your URL in the ad and still sell from your website.

Maybe you've never given much thought to this type of advertising related to your online business. Maybe none of your programs ever discussed this with you. Maybe they just don't know about it. But now you have a very powerful means of getting your message out that can earn substantial profit on your investment.

You can also find great packages through state or regional press associations. Each state or region has press associations which consist of a group of newspapers. You can do a search at any search engine for 'press association' and find this information. Many will even help you with your ad.

Hey Michael,

Just wanna pose a question . Do you find advert responses most effective on products or services in particular ? especially if its got to do with an internet business based advert ?

This is cause I came across some articles stating that selling candybars online is like really tough because people go online for information most of the line line "learn how to play gold / ride a bike and stuff" .

What you quoted is in specific reference to advertising in newspapers and other print media.....not online.  For print medium.... ads for products and services are much better received than "biz op" typre ads.  Biz op ads garner little to no response....unless the specific media is a "home business" etc. publication where the audience/readership is ultra targeted.  There are a few magazines like this.  Even then the numbers are generally not overwhelming.  The people who read these publications usually already have a business and are looking for tools, services, information, etc. to help them build that business.

Your question is more about advertising in the online media.  Much the same holds true there also.  Again...depends on the service/product you're marketing, where you're marketing it (forums, google adsense, web site search engine placement, etc.), how you market it, and to whom (targeted audience).  The rules are pretty much the same....the factors affecting the outcome are too. 

You can sell most any product service online....if you find the right medium to reach your target audience (customers).....and appeal to them in a way that gets their attention.   Therein lies the goal...and the challenge.

you are definitely right about picking the actual niche markets that we can focus on instead of hammering the web of PPC campaigns by very generic keywords. I guess it works both ways - research and test and vice versa to obtain the best results.

I do both online and offline advertising.

Started placing some ads around town here on bulletin boards etc and I have gotten sign ups from that.

It's about the cheapest form of advertising there is..... only cost is printing the ads on my computer.  :)  And for me at least, has been a great way to build my local market.

I want to get as much out of my homebased business as possible.  I have been looking for a mlm home business tax course.

I have not seen any tax courses on this thread yet, or maybe I just missed it. If anyone has one that they would recommend I would like to know.  A Free  course would be preferred but that is probably not likely.

I did have one course that my upline sent me.  It looks very good and it has a free tax helper newsletter.  It is a paid course however, and I have not purchased the course.  it is at http://www.mlmtaxhelper.com/

I did offline advertising and it still is generating some prospects but if you wanna lead them to your website faster its best to just let them call you (that will show that they're interested) and then tell them the name of your website. Its a short goose hunt but a rather exciting one - at least for the prospect it is!

In my hometown, face to face meeting or promoting will be more effective.

So firstly, to need have some samples or have a storage is very important.You pass the real products before them,and then to discuss for a deal.

We really do need to share all aspects of advertisement and all. I did find offline advertising helpful but those are mainly for real life prospecting like talking over the phone and communcation is really important.

I felt that there's two main categories here : the prospects you get offline and online. The ones that are online mainly focuses on doing all communications online probably also because they have so many other things to focus on. So, its best to be able to accommodate to the culture.

I for one would love you speak with someone but given the level of speed and efficiency which the Internet is growing today - we could even do skype with each other for free! :shock:

You hit the nail on the head here...  Marketers who focus online will attract prospects who want to focus online.  The same goes for offline marketers as well.  I will be the first one to tell you that I don't know a thing about offline marketing, but I've learned quite a bit online in the last few years.  As such, people who are more inclined to internet marketing would have better luck working with someone like me as I have more experience and training to offer them.  I wouldn't be able to share that same level of expertise with offline marketers.
