I agree with everyone that it takes time in home based businesses. I also agree that at least the start up fee we need to invest in. And we need to invest in legidement companies. I said legedament because we all know the scams out there.
However, I was sucked into the belief that we had to by leads from a leads generated program. I learned later that bying leads is a scam. They say to use google ad words. I would only give that advise to someone who already know how to make up headlines that would cause people to look at them. Thing is I learned how to do my advertising for free. The only thing that cost me after spending my investment on my home based business is time. Time is the most thing that we should spend our home based business on. If you are spending too much money than you need to do something else. We all can know if the way we are running is good or not by watching people who are successful and find free E-books and I say free that help us. I see so many E-books that are for sale to help us when all I have to do is google that info for free anyway. The information we need is right here in front of us. We can know how to run our business with the least amount of money to invest. Again, time is the only thing we should mostly invest in. Because lets all face it. Most of us who start home based business do not have that much money to start with anyway. We need to learn how to run it with less money.

It's not difficult to make $10,000 a month, but you have to be willing to commit to earn it."
There's the key. Don't freeze yourself with inactivity....constant planning and learning. Pick a few "methods" .... master them .... and jump in.

GREAT info guys!
It's so true... attrition rates wouldn't be so high if leaders were talking to their new teammates about having the right mindset and realistic expectations.
So many times, people are sold some pie-in-the-sky dream and that they can have $10,000 a month coming in in their first 90 days....
Inevitably, after 90 days, these new reps are not at $10,000 a month and they feel they're a failure and not meant to win in MLM.... WRONG! They just had the wrong expectations...
They're frustrated and upset that they're not at $10,000 a month after 90 days...
Meanwhile these are the same people that are bringing home $2,000-$4,000 a month at their job after 10 YEARS or more...
Being direct and setting the right expectations will do wonders for your business...

Your performance dictates your salary.IN most MLMs there are succesful people who are in MLM as a career. Their performance was the reason behind it. Look I understand that people don't want to feel bad and don't want to beat up themselves. But stating the truth is not intended to beat up yourself, it is meant to make one's situation better. Most failures in MLM lack two things:
A) Skill
B) Preserverance
If you don't have the required skills or preserverance to produce the results of making MLM a career, you need to realize it. The bottom line is that there are sucess stories in the vast majority of MLMs that many people on here contend have a systematic weakness. There are greater flaws in the performers performing within the system than the system itself.
I know that people do not want to feel bad about themselves thus they ignore this reality but actually you don't have to feel bad about yourself, you need to analyze why your current performance is failing to produce results.

Hard to argue with that. I think that lack of a strong work ethic leads to unnecessary failure as well. Too many people want something big (financial independence through network marketing) but want to put in only a minimum effort.
Fortunately, lack of skill can often be remedied if the person is willing and has the right guidance and support.

Hi All,
This is an excellent topic, so many people go to work 8,10, 12 hours or more a day for whatever they get an hour, and usually work very hard to get this, then, they decide to come online and do a business on here, the difference is they suddenly think that the internet is a big magic wand, they will join some venture and hey presto be a millionaire over night, now would that be something guys.
I find it amazing that i get calls saying I haven't made any money yet I ask what have you done and where, they reply well nothing really i placed on ad. This is a business and must be treat like one, the fact is we can and do earn 5 and 6 figure incomes even 7 but it takes work and determination and the will to succeed, just as in the last post about mind set.
Yet another great post
To Our Success
FreedomFire wrote: People fail to realize that when they start a home based business (network marketing, direct sales, etc), they are starting a BUSINESS and must treat it as such. Businesses require start up captial (you cannot realistically expect to create $10,000 per month with a $10 'investment'), advertising and marketing expenses, time, energy, creativity, passion, etc. You get the idea. The thing that drives me absolutely crazy is when people tell me that they're unwilling to spend more than $50 in their home business.
They've seen so many ads on the Internet claiming you can turn $50 into $500,000 that they believe it. Sorry to burst that bubble folks, but it's absolutely not true. That particular breed of 'tire kicker' is probably the most frustrating. They claim to want to create a better life for themselves, but are completely unwilling to do the heavy lifting to get there.
It's not difficult to make $10,000 a month, but you have to be willing to commit to earn it.
I'm sure you'll find differing opinions on this, but from my perspective, you should stick with your advertising until you are able to determine whether it is successful or not. Now, that may seem like a pretty ambiguous statement, so let me explain a little bit.
There are some very well-established forms of advertising that are known to produce successful results...but only if you are using them correctly. Let's use Google Adwords as an example. I have had people tell me that they have done 'everything' they could think of and just weren't getting the results they wanted. They then went on to tell me that no, they never got around to reading Perry Marshall's book, they never got around to testing their headlines and ad copy, they never looked up alternative key words, etc, etc, etc. Basically, 'everything' encompassed placing a few of the canned company ads on the BIG and popular Google searches. Well no wonder they didn't see results...
Do you see what I mean here? So when I say that you should choose 2 forms of advertising and master them before moving on to something else, I mean just that. Master them. Don't half-heartedly place a few ads and throw your hands in the air with frustration when you don't see results...
The other thing that goes into that is carefully choosing those advertising mediums you want to work with. There are so many, you should easily be able to choose a few that fit your likes (article writing, personal conversation, website copy, etc) and skill sets.
God Bless,
Michael

So very true! It is amazing what people are willing to do for a boss but are unwilling to do for themselves...they put forth hard work to get that paycheck, but after a few tries with a marketing strategy they often quit. And the cost...I know! The cost to start a MLM business, or internet marketing of any kind (my husband and I do both), is generally very small compared to other businesses. I fear that there are a lot of people who just aren't willing to work for what they want or desire, they want it handed to them. And everything worth getting is worth working hard for, and the things in our lives that are most important are all things that we have worked/ are working hard for.

This Industry always booms in tough economic times! I found out early that you need to be generating highly targeted leads everyday to show your business too.
I just got laid off from my JOB earlier this year and I am so thankful that I had my business to fall back on. No more JOBs for me.
Keep the steam in your dream! and never quit! Always be generating leads! I've just started incorporating Youtube as one of my FREE online marketing strategies....The leads are flying in!
I wish you all the best!

Hi
Yes, it does take some capital to get up and going, but you also have to pick the right opportunity and stick with it. I like to call it investing in yourself.
