Reaching Out...Building A List

Here's a few random thoughts and ideas on how you can build a list. Find one or more that you're comfortable with...and JUST DO IT.

The most obvious and easy way is to purchase leads or run traditional or online advertising (PPC, Press Release, Article Submissions etc).

You could also take the sizzle card / flyer approach (I'm not into littering so I don't personally do this).

Another approach is to cold call professionals (and see if they are open to diversifying... Todd Falcone does an excellent training series on this method), or do voicemail drops (not recordings but actually call and leave voicemails).

But before you do this, I recommend that you write down your own list of resources... who have you met over the past several years and list them all. You'd be surprised how many names you can come up with in a matter of a couple of hours. By the way, do this whether you want to contact them or not. It's a good exercise, and can help you learn to identify the type of people you'd like on your team... and there are many ways you can leverage this list (as customers, referrals, business builders etc).

Also, if you go out to do belly to belly marketing. Don't go out there with the intention to find "sharp" people. Just show an interest in people in general. Ask them all the questions... and inevitably they will ask you what you do... (which is not an invitation to pitch your opp by the way). Be casual, drop a few hints... If they show interest it gives you the opportunity to give them a CD / Brochure / Etc. This method usually works best for the product approach though. You'll find that you could end up giving out dozens of CDs and maybe half of them will call you back to ask questions...

The most successful use several methods to add names to your list... PPC, Warm Market, Purchase Leads, Belly-to-Belly Marketing etc.

Look at list building like investing... learn to diversify.

God Bless,
Michael

Tools To Help You Get The "Point" Across To Your Prospects

You may be struggling a bit with Network Marketing, not because you don't believe in it, because you do, but because you're not in the "convincing" business. Those people who have snubbed your opportunity are the ones that haven't even given it a look, and that's too bad for them.

Your attitude......"NEXT". But, if you have 3rd party validation, it can make all the difference. See, if it's just you going out there talking about your opportunity, it can be more work. But if you hand them a tool, they can hear about it from someone else.

Here's 2 CD's that you may like to use in your business building.

The first is "The Perfect Business" by Robert Kiyosaki, author of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". How many times have you read "If you want to be a millionaire, talk to a millionaire!". What you'll like about this CD is that Robert has never been involved with a Network Marketing company. But in his CD, he flat out says that if he had to do it again, he'd do network marketing. Great plug for NM.

The other CD you may really like is "The Next Trillion" by Paul Zane Pilzer. How the fortunes of the new millennium will be created in the Wellness Industry. Paul is the Economist that predicted the Technology boom of the 90's, so if you missed that, you'll want to pay attention now.

These men are millionaires. They've offered these tools to help us be the same. There are others like Tim Sales "Brilliant Compensation" which are also very good. Look for them and see which you like best....then USE them.

Another item you may share with your prospects is "The 45 Second Presentation That Will Change Your Life" by Don Failla. This book is great for explaining what Network Marketing IS and what it IS NOT. Have your prospect read the first 4 napkin presentations. They'll be so curious about what a napkin presentation is that they'll read it. (The first 4 presentations is only about 32 pages).

Although you are already sharing personal experience with the product you are promoting, this validation is extremely powerful. But don't forget, you must believe in your product and want to share it with others. It will show if you are not a believer. There are many many opportunities out there. If you're looking for a credible one, start with the DSA (Direct Selling Association).

You'll want to pick a company that has ALL of the following:

* Market Demand - Your product must produce results in order to create a demand for it.

* Consumable - it must be something that will be consumed and repurchased.

* Market timing and Trends - identify what the current trends are. The timing of the company is key as well. Brand new is not always the best. Make sure it's an established company with a reputation, stability, and ETHICAL.

* Leveragability - You are in business for yourself, but not by yourself. Leverage your time to increase your earning power. It's the power of duplication that facilitates leveragability.

You can significantly narrow your search by sticking to those 4 guidelines.

I hope this information is helpful to all of you looking to grow your own businesses.

God Bless,
Michael

Focus on buiding you and branding yourself online rather than your company or products. This will give you a much better return.

Personally I think one of the most informative ideas I've ever heard came from Nike, "Just Do It!"  So many network marketers get a new biz opp, get all fired up, then after a month or two when they dont see results they end up quitting and moving on to the next big thing.  Instead devise a plan and "Just do it" every day, even if only 1/2 hr a day you Will be successful in the long run.

They say that 98% of all MLM'ers fail..... I dont believe that as most MLM's have awesome products and amazing opportunities.  Rather, I believe that its just simply because they didnt stay in that one opportunity long enough to get the results that they want/need/desire.  So just dont quit, stick it out, and enjoy the ride once its began.

                                                     To Your Continued Success,

                                                                    Dean L Leverett

The number one tip I could give to a newbie would be to learn to market on the internet. It will take some time but you will see much better returns attracting people to you who are already looking for a home business than to try and sell your friends, family, and acquaintances who probably arent looking for one but might sign up out of obligation to you.

The #1 mistake that kills people in this type business is dealing with unmotivated prospects. It will drain your energy and enthusiasm. The world is full of people who are interested in what you have to sell - just attract them to you and your business.

The specific internet marketing areas you should learn how to use are:

PPC Marketing (specifically Google Adwords)

Article Submission

Craigslist, Backpage, etc...

Social Networking (Myspace, Facebook)

Youtube

There are courses and online training available for all these...

Good Luck!

Here is something that you can use to help realize what you are getting yourself into and where you are going.

1.  Draw a Rectangle Box.  Draw the top and bottom longer than the 2 sides.

2. Draw a line connecting the bottom left corner with the top right corner.

3. On the top half write Time.

4. On the bottom half write Money.

You can see as you follow the diagnal line from left to right:

You have to spend much more time than money.

But as you stick with it you start spending less time and more money.

To your success,

Nelson Lee

I've a good tip for people working at a work-at home job: Schedule.

Even when the job description says "set your own schedule!" it's important not to procrastinate. Set a time to start working, and a time to stop. Otherwise you'll find yourself working when you don't want to or not working when you should be.

I agree with Kevin about marketing on the internet.  Your warm market (friends and family) is only so large, then you run out of prospects.  Besides, they will start to run when they see you coming if you hound them.  Learn to market yourself first, then your business, by creating a personal website, blogging, article writing, creating a newsletter, social networking sites (Squidoo, My Space, Facebook, etc.), and participating in forums.  That way, interested prospects will come to you.  You will not have to go out and pound the pavement hoping to find an opportunity seeker.

This seems a little backwards to me but I see the point. It's not just about having the good idea and following through on it. It's selling the idea. A good salesman without a good product will still be able to sell the product. A good product with a sale won't do anything.

I have found that to be effective in Internet Marketing you need to establish yourself as an expert in the field.   This takes effort and may mean hard work and acquiring skills to make that possible to achieve that objective.  By doing research you can learn to accomplish your objectives.

1. Post to classified ads

2. Create your own blogs

3. Create your website

4. Write articles

5. Autoresponders

6. E-mail current contacts

7. Networking

8. Newsletters

Also, I recommend if you are serious about marketing, I would suggest reading this article for additional information. I found  this article to read at the follow link below....

This is good advice. They call it "being an industry leader" nowadays -- no way to get traffic without it.

I agree with the person that wrote about the free marketing. My husband was out of a job for a while and we got into a company that wanted us to spend, spend, spend, to get more leads, more in our downline anyway we could. Didn't take us long to figure it wasn't a company for us.
Anyhow, just look for the free stuff and watch that there isn't a "trial period" because then you end up spending money on it anyhow and that isn't the point right?
There are plenty of free resources out there! You just have to really look hard to get the good ones!
Good Luck to all those who have been doing it forever or just begining!

Just think of all the great FREE marketing that is going on in this forum not to mention the enormous amount of great ideas and knowledge. When I go involved in this industry I learned that if I could help enough people get what they want i would have what I want. What I had to figure out was how to help other people and what I found was to help other people I must give of myself.

This concept is no different when it comes to finding business minded people on the internet. You must give of yourself and continue to fill yourself with more in order to bring more value into the marketplace. Give every chance you get and be thankful for what you have then give some more.

Success
