Hi Mark,
I am sure you have received many answers to your question. What is the best route on the internet. I agree with all suggestions, stated.
I know for my self, I have done many mlm businesses which provide little profit for
lots and lots of work.
Affliate marketing you must find a product that the market is crazy about, almost before everyone else does. There are many full time affiliate marketers that promote many products and make really good money. If you go this route, I have heard by many that having a preview page of various products is a great idea. A good place to go and look for affiliate sites to promote is http://clickbank.com.
Direct Sales industry provides you with a higher commission for the same effort. But you must invest a larger amount of money in the product you wish to promote. Above all else believe in what you are promoting.
Ebay selling works for many. Pick a product and sell information online thru ebay for $1.00. Set up an account and see what people are searching for.
Do your due diligence, take your time. After all you want to make this business your full time profitable business which takes time and effort.
I wish you great success.
Cindy

Hi Philip Mitchell Hayes,
If that's you on the photo (your first link) than you did it. Branding yourself means that you promote your site or a splash page, not a selfreplicated website you got from a company.
You can have your photo, a little bit info about yourself and company, maybe short video or audio etc. That's how you let people to know you, become familiar with your name and photo so you will be recognized instead of your company.

Very well said Luckygirl,
I've always found that Videos greatly increase my "opt in %" on my splash pages.
They don't have to be anything fancy.

I am quite new to this like you but in the end I had to do something. I ended up going in a direction and taking action. you can end up just reading and watching.
By doing something you will get a feel for what you want to do. The only thing I got right first time was the area I wanted to work in. Everything else has been trial and error. Don't be original. Do what other people are doing while you find your place in the world of internet marketing
Good luck

1- It will take longer to grow a big business than you think.
Growing a big business is hard work and you must plan to give it at least 5 years. It may happen sooner but you should not get discouraged if it does not.
2- You should start looking for potential business partners on your first day.
You do not need to have been in the business for a long time or have a lot of knowledge in order to sponsor someone. If you need help your upline and other company leaders are there to support and assist you.
3- It is crucial to sell yourself before you sell your opportunity.
There are thousands of other distributors selling your opportunity but only one you. You are unique. In order to experience great success, you must focus on selling yourself more than you sell your opportunity.
4- You don’t need to know everything about your products and opportunity to build a big business. In fact, knowing too much can be your downfall. If you wait until you think you know everything to start recruiting you will have waited too long.
5- Some will, some won’t next! Everyone will not buy your product or join your opportunity so except this and get over rejection immediately.
6- No means not now. I have had many people say no and they come back a few months later and say yes. Just because someone says no, does not mean they will not be interested in the future.
7- Take the time to get to know and network with other network marketers.
8- If you don’t ask the answer is already no. It cannot hurt you to politely ask anyone you know or meet if they know anyone who may be interested in your products or if they know anyone who is looking to make extra money. You must ask in order to be successful.
9- You don’t need to make a lot of money for others to view you as successful. In network marketing many people have the perception that it is hard to make $500-$1,000 a month. If you can make just even this amount, you will find that many people will be impressed and view you as a success.
10- It’s not just about the money. Although yes, there is a lot of money in network marketing, there are also amazing, lasting and life long friendships, as well as fun and learning experiences which can be worth more than just money.

I have tried many systems and found most of them just hot air
and hype. I have lost a lot of money over the years. In any business
whatever it may be you need two basic things: A product and a list
of customers not necessarily in that order. I believe at long last I have
found a way to both. The third thing you need is support from people who will
really help you and not ignore you or give you more hot air.
I will be most happy to try and answer any questions.
I am 88 years young and have a lot of experience ln many things

Hey Kirk_kaf, that's a great question. I was in the same boat when I started here. But guess what! I am not anymore thanks to these forums! This is where networkworkers NETWORK!
I love the concept because I once wanted what you want- something for free! And I still do althoough, it's kind of strange to find so much FREE stuff when your looking at a gold mine! I recently had a thought,
If your digging and you find gold, and you keep digging and you keep finding gold, would you ever stop?
That's kind of what it's like here! Gold nuggets all over. And what ever you want to market, there is bound to be someone from the same market to help you.
What I found in the industry is this. Find something you can leverage your efforts with. By that I mean if your marketing health bars, it's a physical sale, you know what I mean? You have to physically ship or deliver to your customer. When you leverage your efforts, you get them to view infomation on your product and then get them on an autorespnder. That way you can follow up with them and create a relationship with no hard selling! Article marketing is a way to promote your product and get that information easily. Blogs are kind of the same.
Even though you don't have a product to market, you can sell information. Write about something you know in and out. Write an E-book, and publish it on the web in a squeeze page. That way you can charge AND get their information for future products that you may aquire in the industry!
Hope that helps! Best of Income to you.
That's all I have for now,
God Bless your business forever!

In today’s world of technology shouldn’t it be possible for people to truly tap into the vast array of resources out there to leverage time and make money? Not only should it be possible, it should be fairly easy to do, but how?
Over the past decade the World Wide Web has opened doors for people who have learned how to tap into it and use it to work for them. There have been hundreds upon hundreds of people who have demonstrated that making a fortune on the internet or in marketing is possible.
For a long time I thought that these people had to be “techies” or just out right geniuses to have figured out how to do this. Then I started doing some research of my own and found out that it does take some time and effort but it is possible and not nearly as difficult as we all think.
There are now thousands of resources available right on the internet, many of them free, that teach people how to blog, use forum boards, build websites, make marketing emails, generate business and monetize a website or blog. Many of these tools are very user friendly and are intended for use by people who would consider themselves computer illiterate.
Now you may be saying to yourself, “Okay, that is all fine and dandy but don’t I need a product or service to market?” Yes, you do, but in this industry the sky is the limit. Again, there are thousands of online businesses you can join that offer great products and give you the tools you need to market them online. There are companies that pay other websites generously for allowing them to post adds on your website or on your webblog.
If you think that it is impossible to have financial independence and time freedom, think again. If you are willing to put in a little bit of effort to learn a new skill and hone that skill you can change your life by utilizing technology to work for you.
What would you do if money was not an issue and your time was truly your own? Would you stay at home with your children? Would you travel? Would you start a foundation or non-profit to help others? Would you donate your time and money?
Think of all the good we could do in this world if we were truly able to stop trading time for money and our time was our own and money was no object. The sky's the limit, lets change the world together!

Here you are a brand new person to network marketing and MLM. I know you’re asking yourself, “What am I suppose to do now?” The answer is very simple, TAKE ACTION! Ok, that’s it! That’s the end of the article. So, what did you learn? Oh! You want more? Ok. Believe it or not, network marketing and MLM are very “simple” businesses. One of the greatest business models ever developed to allow the average individual to make an above average income. “This business is simple,” you ask? Yes! Very simple. The only thing is, like any business, it is not “easy.” It will take work on your part. That’s why we call is net-WORK-marketing. Get it?
The first thing you should do is become very familiar with your company, culture, products/services, and comp plan. Even then, the comp plan is not the most important thing you should fully understand at this point. Although, you should have discovered while researching your new company how you are going to be paid and where your income will come from in this business. This process may take as long as five days to get this information under your belt and comfortable.
I stress here, do NOT talk to anyone about your new network marketing business until you are comfortable with this information and have gone through the “Getting Started” training with your company and your sponsor. This can make all the difference in the world in how you get started out with your new business. Trust your sponsor and the company training. You should have learned from your due diligence of the company and sponsor; if the training and system is working for your sponsor and other successful people in the company, then it will work for you.
Have regular training calls with your sponsor. Get involved in the weekly corporate and team training conference calls. Read through the brochures. Get very comfortable with your company back office system on your website. All of the elements of this back office will serve you well when you learn how best to use them. If your company back office does not include a contact manager/database, then you need to talk to your sponsor to determine which is the best for you.
What do you know about marketing your new business? Nothing? I thought so. This is an area where you will need to duplicate the online and offline marketing techniques of those already successfully working them in your company. In the case where your sponsor can’t seem to help you with this then track upline until you find someone who is willing to work with you and share their information and experiences. No sense reinventing the wheel in marketing as that can be very time consuming.
You have made the choice of which company and sponsor you wish to work with in your new network marketing business. Now is the time to STOP looking at other opportunities both on and offline. You need to be focused on your new business and not distracted with the latest and greatest new start up company. Have faith in yourself and your decision and stick with it.
Now is the time to become immersed in your new business, the company, get involved in the culture, focus on ACTION, and “fall forward.” Always keep thinking to yourself, or even write these 12 words on a note card and place it over your desk, “I must do the most productive thing possible at every given moment.” You will fail at different elements of your business but learn from them and move forward. No successful person in history made it without many failures.
So, in summary, your success or failure rests totally in your hands. You have to take the initiative and learn, experience, trial and error, fall forward, and take positive productive ACTION on a daily basis in your business. As I said in the beginning, network marketing is simple but not easy. As you have already learned in life, nothing worthwhile comes easy.
I hope this has given you a better idea of where you’re going and how to get there. There is no secret to this business as any successful professional will tell you. If there is a secret to success it lies within YOU. Now, take the opportunity you have been given and personally chosen and make the best of it to become successful. I have faith in you and you CAN do this.
Thoughts? Comments? Additions? All are welcome.

Hi Craig -
That is some valuable information that you provided in that post. I especially like your recommendation to "STOP looking at other opportunities".
That is such a temptation, and one of the biggest distractions to your business. The quickest way to success is to remain laser-focused on the opportunity that you have chosen. There will always be the "next big thing" out there, but we should leave those alone and concentrate on our business.
I receive emails every day about this "great new business", and to get in NOW! I have learned to ignore them. I will concentrate on my business ONLY and will not be distracted by other offers. Your advice is RIGHT ON!

Hi Mark,
What I usually tell my clients when they get a bit overwhelmed is to just start. That can be simply reading material or asking recruiters questions. You've already got started by posting which is great.
Also think about what you would need to feel comfortable getting going. If you can discover that, then you have a path to follow.
All the best,
Joe

For those who are new to MLM, or wishing to get into it, here is my advice.
#1) Find one that you truly believe in the products or company.
#2) Find a MLM where you know that your mentor will be there to train and support you.
#3) Find one that has a duplicatable system. Always ask yourself, I know this person is successful, but can i replicate what he/she is doing? Can I pass on this knowledge to any downline I might acquire?
If you have those three things you will be successful. There are many good companies out there, many of them listed on this forum.
Enjoy your journey. It will be very personally rewarding.

| I'll add my favorite one I tell new MLMers. Don't be afraid to call or ask questions. Alot of times they might think they are bothering me, but I explain to them that the most successful people in this industry help others the most....that is what is great about this industry.

I agree with Kurt - there is an opportunity with your name on it, Mark - just don't get overwhelmed with all the different opportunities available.
When I was researching, I had a few things in mind that I was looking for... so it helped me narrow them down.
1) I wanted a product that I could believe in..
2) I wanted to know the person on the other end - not just thru email or internet connections. I needed to know that there was a mentor there to guide me.
3)And I would ask them how many people I needed in my downline in order to make a good solid thousand bucks - you would not believe the varity of answers I got on that one or how few people even KNEW how many they needed. To me that is senesless as how will you know what to shoot for, if you don't know?!
Anyways - it helped me narrow it down that way - in case that helps you any...
Good luck,
Viola

Kurt and Viola,
I am definitely on the same page as you guys. The only thing I would add is doing a bit of due diligence on the company providing the opportunity -- to make sure they're stable enough to warrant a long-term investment of time on your part, eh? Because mlm is NOT a get-rich-quick thing. It generally DOES take a long-term investment of time, doesn't it?

When I saw this thread, I said to myself - that is defintinely me - a newbie! So, from one newbie to another, 2 pieces of advice:
1. Don't give up. Almost every night I hear something along the lines of "Are you spamming people again? Don't spam Kel, it's not cool, etc.
I love her but she doesn't know **it. She has turned down every offer (which I make often) to see what I'm actually doing. What's the response? No thanks, I'm not interested. What's my point? Don't listen to the naysayers. Grin and bear it - it won't last long. The story will change fast once the checks start coming in.
2. Master one, then move on to the next. I have been making the same mistake over and over again - trying to market everywhere. Learn one tactic, get it working, then take on another. In 4 days of active practice of this technique, I have already generated 3 signups - and more than quadruple the site visits I was getting before. Today's objective is to master article marketing.

| Another comment, especially for beginners, is to look for a system with a good back office. They should have ample training, autoresponders, and plenty of resources (like places you can post, etc.)

Finding a system that does what they claim it will do takes some searching. But is well worth the effort
