This has probably been dealt with in detail in earlier posts, but i want to ask all you MLM, Networking Pros. How does one Recruit Up? I hear a lot about looking for successful people, that those people are successful for a reason. But aside from calling every law firm, Ceo, Doctor, Chiropractor, etc. in the phone book, how does one go after these kinds of people? I am working on learning how to do articles, blogs, SEO on my capture pages, etc. to generate my own targeted leads. Those tactics are slow, but i understand very successful over the long haul. I'm contributing in several forums, as well.

In the meantime, i need traffic, qualifed targeted traffic. And, i would like to know how to go after those successful people. What about MLM Geneology lists, do those work? Are there internet communities frequented by successful people willing to entertain other options? Just how does one go about Recruiting Up? Anyone want to help here?

PM Hayes,

It does sound like you are doing the right things.  I agree that blogging is a great tools.  Be consistent with it and focus on key words that will target your niche.

Continue writing articles, posting on forums, and blogging.  Do you have a personal website?  Do you have an autoresponder?

These are also keys in targeting your niche and providing valuable information.  Squidoo has also been mentioned here.  Visit my lens at http://www.squidoo.com/lisawillard.  There is some great info there about marketing online.

Don't give up.  Keep moving forward.

It sounds like you are doing everything right but as you said, the process can take some time.

Do you feel that you can focus on all of your marketing techniques and give them the attention they need?

It might not be a bad idea to focus on one or two of these techniques (like article writing and blogs), master them and then incorporate another technique.

I think one of the most difficult aspects of this business is that when the effort is high and the results are low, frustration sets in. Again, if you feel you are developing each technique, keep it up. If not, rearrange and master one or two concepts.

Thank you both for your comments. I'm not new to MLM, but i am very new to doing this stuff online. That has changed the game somewhat. Offline, i try to approach successful people, ones that i know are professional, have a good work ethic, and can recognize a profitable venture when they see one. Online, i feel somewhat like a fish out of water. How to find those same successful people with online marketing, that's something i am unsure of.

Hey PM, a lot of good questions there.  I wouldn't be real quick at jumping into the geneaology lists... they are often times outdated, and tough to break into. (not that it is impossible.)

The key to sponsoring up, or even working the gene list for that matter is relationships...

It sounds like you are on the right track... but be willing to give freely, and show the value in YOU, before even thinking of mentioning your opportunity.

Let me know if I can help in any way...

Best Wishes,

Nate

Hey Phillip,

I'm in the same boat as you but I'm sitting closer to the front.  LOL! :D

I've been diligently working on all of the areas you previously mention for online marketing.  It does take time and I'm just now scratching the surface by starting my own blog, doing free classified ads, article writing, and joining Facebook and forums.

I would also suggest that you look into joining the Chamber of Commerce in your area to go to their business mixers or even look into joining a few free leads clubs.  Both can be productive in sponsoring up but on the personal level vs. internet.

I have a full scale marketing system in place and it has been very beneficial for my team in offline marketing.  However, I do use my 800 sizzle line for my initial contact in my ads and blog.  This does create people calling me and acts as a filter for those who are truly interested.

There are no shortcuts.  The only way to learn this internet marketing is to "do."  I would like to invite you to visit my blog site to see what I've done and maybe you can pick up some nuggets of information to shorten your learning curve.

The quickest way to get people who are interested and highly targeted for free is through regular participation in forums.

If you have enough information of value that will benefit others, give it away. Find out 2-5 forums that are in your market and contribute meaningfully. Granted it takes time to get traffic from forums. However, when you have contributed everyday for 2 weeks non-stop, you will start to see regular sign ups to your squeeze pages.

An ideal number is to post 5 each day on each forum. This will brand you before many people and they will check out your profile. Do it for 3 days, I'm assuring you can build as much 100 - 400 subscriptions per month.

That was an excellent piece of advice. I truly appreciate it. In fact, all of the responses i have gotten are good. I'm an old pro when it comes to MLM, and the offline tactics that will and will not work. I no longer use Warm Market, i tend to agree with Michael on that one. I am attraciting some very good high caliber prospects to my business, but it's a slow process. I want to ramp it up online, an area where i am weak, thus the reason for this thread. I have learned a good bit from you pros, for sure. I am taking another suggestion Michael made to heart. Pick one method, master it, then add to your repertoire. I'm in this and a couple of other forums, and establishing a presence. Now i am going to focus on Article Writing. I'm pretty good with the pen, so i think i can take advantage of that one. Any suggestions as to the best way to market with articles?

Hi Philip,

You talk about wanting to market using articles?  Great decision and I've got just the company for you that will submit your articles to thousands of publishers with you only filling out some personal information, submiting your article only once and then you sit back and watch the "approved" messages get emailed to you from all of the top publishers.  It's awesome!

For this information please visit my website listed below about learning about me and you will see it at the top.  They save me countless hours of submitting my articles one at a time and constantly filling out the same information on each and every article submission site.  What a time saver.

Check it out and let us know what you think after you've visited their site.

Craig, i was under the impression that those article publishers frowned upon autosubmitted articles, and that some would not accept anything but hand submited articles. I also was under the impression that hand submitted articles did better in search engine rankings. Am i mistaken?

Hi Philip,

I am glad you asked the question about autosubmitters.  I have been told the same thing; do not use them.  Can someone please enlighten us on the subject?  I would love to know the truth of the matter.

Ronda, What i have been told is that it's better to write a handful of well crafted articles, and submit them personally, than to do the autosubmision. But Craig may have an autosubmitter that the publishers will accept. I'm not shooting anything down, i don't know enough about this subject to do that.

I am an experienced MLM'er, offline. I am learning the online side, because that's the way the industry is going. I'm very good at calling prospects, customers, etc. and i am a good closer. I am good at the offline side of marketing, and i'm not afraid to approach anyone. I believe in my opportunity, It's the best one i have ever found, after being in a number of different ones, moderate success in some, complete bomb in others.

But, the industry is trending away from the old model of Tuesday night meetings at XYZ Motel, stockpiling a bunch of product and trying to sell it, or give away samples and try to attract distributors, etc. You know the game. I'm not complaining, i like the idea of taking it to the web, the potential customer/distributor market is HUGE.

Boy did i get off subject. Sorry. Anyway, i am waiting for Craig, or anyone who is versed in the matter to respond to my question. Thanks for your input. We'll see what answers crop up.

Hi Philip and Ronda,

Maybe this will give you some idea of the company I'm dealing with for the submission of my articles.

"We've already revolutionized article marketing once.
In 2003, SubmitYOURArticle.com created the web's first ever 100% automated article distribution service. Since then we've distributed 28,558 articles (and rising) from hundreds of clients to "thousands of publishers" around the globe.
But now we're changing the face of article marketing again - with the brand new world-beating ArticleLeverageâ„¢ technology, exclusive to SubmitYOURArticle.com.
This incredible new functionality is provided at no extra cost on top of our existing service as an additional option, and allows our clients to dramatically increase the results they get from article marketing.

In brief, it allows you to leverage each and every one of your articles - so that for just a little more work, you get a lot more results. "No other article distribution service or software on the planet offers this powerful functionality."

Find Out More:  See my sigfile for a link in aboutcraigmattice.com. I hope this helps.  Please, feel free to ask me any questions you may have but visiting the website through my link on my blog page will tell you more.

I even called and talked to their customer service about your very question and they seem to have developed a very good reputation for quality with their publisher member list.  Mind you, they do review every article submitted to verify copyright, content, quality, and proper category all before the article is even submitted by them.
