Wow! That was such an immediate response. Any mentorship, advice or contacts I can make in my young career...I genuinely appreciate more than I can say.

If I can maintain contact with you Broker, even via the forums, it would be awesome for me to learn lessons from someone with experience.

So again thank you for your acknowledgement and I will likely take you up on your offer of advice when I come across hurdles.

And maybe it will be interesting for you to follow my career from infancy into success.

Hey Broker,

I hope you know you've opened a can of worms by telling me you're contactable. lol...but you of all people should understand I'm just a young cat trying to get my piece of the pie .

Anyways, I've just read your blog.  Your last post is great for me because I've not known what to tell people when they ask me what I'm doing. I'm starting a clothing company on the side with my friends so I've answered by saying that was my primary focus, not knowing how to respond when it comes to my home business.

But I like how you stated "I"m an internet marketer teaching myself and others how to generate income."

I'm not sure how to begin the dialogue with you but I'll say that I'm soo willing and ready to learn. This is what I do with my time now. I want to be an Entrepreneur. Funny because I was schooled as a journalist, but now I'm trying to grow two baby businesses. I guess I'll start by throwing out some questions and feel free to answer if you like.

When you and your wife were starting out a couple of years ago, what did you do to make your first sales and generate leads?

Right now, I'm learning all the free marketing strategies, web 2.0, forums and have begun articling and blogging. Is this sufficient for now? I feel like it's time for me to generate more leads though so I'm looking to google and pay per click. But I don't want to spend nor do I necessarily have the capital to dive in unless I know the risk is worth it.

Man, this world really is a jungle...I'm happy to be here...but it feels like it will be a while before I gain my stripes.

Anyways, signed up on your site too, maybe that will help.

Thank you.

Joe

Hey Joe!

I've got some good answers to your questions, but I've been up since 330am.

So I'm going to leave this forum open on my laptop screen and take a small nap. When I get back I'll have a fairly lengthy response for you. :D

Talk to you soon bro,

Broker

Oh man....now that is a can of worms. We did a lot of things wrong at first, like...throwing house parties, and chasing our friends, family, coworkers asking them "do they keep their options open" all crap that WILL eventually get you 1-2 sign ups a month but will NOT get you any closer to building a successful business.

We attended tons of "live training" events that were mostly based on hyping you up and getting you excited until the next training event. We bought DVD's and all sorts of crap that never worked for us.

And then one day about a year ago I realized there were Internet Marketers....that were attracting people to them......and not only did they NOT have to chase people, but the people that were coming to them were quality....business minded people.

My success began with EDUCATION.

I read Magnetic Sponsoring and MLM Traffic Formula and my business changed within one month. I was bringing in 5-10 leads per day into my business, and we never looked back.

Now these are NOT the only training out there that a successful marketer needs. But for me they were the "catalyst" that got me started down the right path.

Web 2.0, and Forums are two of my absolute favorite marketing methods, because they are all about building relationships, and you get to "learn" while you market at the same time.

However I couldn't help but notice that the link in your signature is to a "corporate cookie cutter splash page" that brands Jay Kubasek...and not you.

When you create interest through Web 2.0 and Forums.....your only goal is to get that person to "opt in" to YOUR splash page and become a lead of Joseph,INC. .....NOT a lead of Jay Kubasek and/or CarbonCopyPro.

Never lead your marketing with your "companies" website. It takes away all credibility that YOU are the authority figure and you end up looking like somoene who is "copy and pasting" their business.

Did you know.....that Jay Kubasek abandoned Carbon Copy Pro because it didn't work? Taking out the  Human Element......doesn't work.

Network Marketing is ALL about human interaction.

I'm not trying to bash what you're doing bro. If you want to promote that program however. You really need to send all of your traffic and leads to a unique page that you create or that a mentor of yours creates.

I won't lie...it does take a while to earn your stripes. But if you are dilligent and educate yourself and take consistent action you can get into profit fairly quick.

By now you've checked out a few of my sites I believe.

Do you notice how my website brands "Broker Jones" and doesn't talk about any companies or products? That builds a "Broker Jones" organization.....which is immune to "Corporate Crashes" or any other disaster which may strike elements of the industry. It also establishes "Broker Jones" as the authority figure, which attracts people to me.

Education = Value = Attracts Others To you

&

Consistent Effort Daily is the gasoline that takes you places.

Talk to you soon man,

Broker Jones

Great! This is super useful information and I will look into those books.

I'm very aware I will have to change my lead page and personalize it more.  My sponsor even has told me so. He takes the educational approach much like you.

This is what I want to do...I want to be more honest and open with people and help them and drive success for everyone including myself.

Right now, I've felt like I've just needed to get a hold of the marketing strategies first before I really get into the technical part of it. Although, I know I'll need my own unique landing page at some point, that design and technical aspect are really intimidating to me.

But the cues as of late are that it would do me better to learn that skill sooner than later as it will really help with the leads.

In terms of the consistency and daily work and treating it like a business and mindset. It's all there for me now. Last year, I finished college and moved out on my own and tried this same type of work with I think it was "passport to wealth". I failed miserably, lost my apartment and am now back under my parents roof.

I'm not telling you because I want to let out a sob story...but because I know there is a way to have great success in this industry. I know it.

The reason I failed that first go round was because of what you are saying.  I dropped my money and then there were tumbleweeds blowing by me...no one to be seen. ZERO SUPPORT. ZERO EDUCATION.

Why I'm with CCpro at the very least is that I have a good sponsor (although frankly you've been almost as helpful in two days than he has in 3 months) and there is good support and information to get started...but perhaps that's all it is.

I need a little more advanced education now.

I feel I've developed a lot farther than last time I took a shot at this. I'm working it now and have gotten started and everythings set up. Now I need to figure out, traffic, leads and income.

Anyways, sorry to rant. Do you have any good websites I should look at on where to start to personalize my splash page?

Again, thank you so much. You don't even know, dude.

Joe

Hey Joe,

I'm technically OFF today, and about to go enjoy some time with my family but here is a GREAT website that taught me how to build every site that I have now.

It's not exactly FUN......

But being able to design your own custom splash pages and websites whenever you have a new brilliant idea.........as opposed to paying a programmer and waiting for them to get the job done (which will never be as you envisioned it in your mind).....learning HTML and website design is a "million dollar skill".

Best of all.....it's FREE.

The only requirement is your time and "sweat equity".

I'm taking the rest of the day off today bro but here is the website for you to sink your teeth into:

http://www.w3schools.com/

Have a great weekend man,

Broker Jones

Broker...

You nailed the problem right on the spot.

Many newbie network marketers (myself included) don't know anything and will grab any information they find at Google.

Unfortunately many of those information out there are not really useful.

Free information especially...some may be good...some may be bad. But I noticed that a lot of new network marketers get REALLY LOST following all those bits and pieces of those free information.

Free information is good for new guys who are cash strapped...but the best investment is to invest in home study courses, go through everything with a fine comb and IMPLEMENT it.

I'm personally against recommending those 2-3 day courses costing thousands. Most of the time they cost too much, teach too fast, and don't provide the details needed.

Still...I guess this problem is what almost all new network marketers have to go through.

Invest years and thousands before coming upon the right information. I guess this process will filter out those who are really serious in making a difference for themselves from tire kickers/wannabes.

Still...GREAT POST BROKER! ;)

Hey Kaiwei,

Thank you for the reply!

Education = Value = Attraction

But one thing to keep in mind is that oftentimes new marketers will get so wrapped up in educating themselves that they will actually become paralyzed with "Information Overload" so it is very important to "budget your time" and spend 50% on educating initially and then 50% taking direct "results producing" action.

Have a great day,

Broker

Here are a few more Network Marketing keys:

- One of the most important aspects is the importance of building successful MLM relationships.
- It is of critical importance to build a sense of trust with your team members.
- The team building aspect of network marketing is of vital importance to the success  of each individual member and to the team as a whole.
