| So I've been with my company for three weeks now and I've planned two PBRs: one in my hometown Oxon Hill, MD (a Washington, DC suburb) and another in the New York Area in the next week and a half. Many of the people who I want to invite either rejected my idea weeks ago mainly due to bad presentation on my part or they are just too busy with their lives right now. All these people should be present at my PBRs because they all complain about their financial situations and wish they had more time to do the things they love. How can I approach these people with a PBR invitation? Last edited on Tue May 23rd, 2006 03:25 pm by RatRaceQuitter

I beleive you need the presentation tools.
Talk to your sponsor about it. Ask him to teach you. If he is not a leader, I would move further up to find a true leader

| I know Im late to this one sonya..but its is basically a numbers game....If you invite 50 people to your PBR expect to get a 1/3 of that...however your attendance rate of your PBR's does go up if you can do 3 ways with the prospects...but 3-ways and inviting more people out is the key

Tony,
The last I heard "PBR" stood for something like "Personal Business Reception." It's another way of saying "Home Meeting."

Yes, PBR is another term for Home Business Reception.
If your one of those influential individuals that can invite family, friends and colleagues, show them your business presentation, and have them join your Organization then Great Work.
On the most part, people are busy and its not easy getting people to come over for a business presentation.
Your more apt to get them to a Business Luncheon! Might want to try that!
Good Luck,
Wanda

RatRaceQuitter,
To me it sounds like you need a qualification process for your prospects. When people tell you they are too busy or just plan not interested, you can not work with these people.
I look at it like this; there are millions of people who are intersted in a home business. However, we can only work with the willing. Do not spend time chasing those who are clearly not interested. It will save you lots of time, effort, and money if early on your idenify that they are not good prospects.
Does this help?

Even better: let 'em stay home and dial in on a live business presentation call.
I haven't done a one-on-one presentation, a home party or a business luncheon in years. And haven't needed to. In fact, as soon as I STOPPED using those methods, my income jumped dramatically. (By tens of thousands of dollars per month).

| I think Home Meetings or PBR's are some of the old school methods of building a business. Do they work? Yes, for some they work extremely well, but for others, they do not. I think they work well with Heavy Hitter type of people that have strong influence over others. If that is your personality type, by all means have home meetings as often as possible, but I believe most people should try to build their business through cold contacts, not the warm market. Your Cold Market is your Gold Market!
