I think the best form of marketing offline is face to faceBecause it has many advantages because it is high touch.  Networking with people by getting referrals is another good way to market offline.  When is it is done correctly.  However, you have to learn to how to present yourself well. :)

One way to utilize sizzle cards is to place them into business magazines at your newsagents or supermarkets:shock: - takes bit of fast work but could be worth it!

I have a friend who told me he had like 5 tshirts, with business opportunity stuff on it, he was involved with a travel company and he says he would wear that shirt out, he said he had hits to his websites, even a few signed up or he would have them mention something about the shirt,he would give them a card and he signed up alot of people that way.

As old is this may be, I remember some of the herbalife people would wear those buttons back in the 70's and 80's and alot of people became rich from that simple but free marketing

I also like car stickers, people get those magnets put on the side and I remember hearing a guy had a business opportunity on an 18-wheeler and got enough business that he quit being a trucker, so simple, very low cost of advertising that still works today

A few of the offline marketing methods that I am using include, co-op advertising. This is where a bunch of people pool their monies together to pay for an ad. Depending on how many shares you purchase, and the cost per share will vary, you get a varying number of leads. These leads you either call, email, or both. This is a low-cost and effective method of advertising. Another method I recommend is sending postcards to leads. You can get these leads by purchasing from a company Also, handing out business cards work well. Many times, I will take a bunch of business cards with me when I am running my errands. While I am walking through the parking lot, I will place them on the drivers side window. This way, when the person returns to their car, he or she should see your business card on the window. Car signs also work well. I can't tell you how many times I have had someone stop me to ask about my car sign and wanted more information.  I will get their email and phone number and setup an appointment with them.   All of these methods work.  Pick a few and work on them.  Sometimes, for new people who are just starting their own business, it will take a while to develope first the courage and then later the skills to go an talk to folks, but if you hang in there, things will fall into place. :)

I recently read a great marketing idea that I thought I would share.  First, print up some referral business cards with a blank space for a name and phone number.  Put your web site and phone number on your business cards. Hand them out to people and ask them to write their name and number on them in the space provided.  This way, you will know who has referred business to you and you can give the referrer $5.00 as a thank you.  One or two may not seem much but if one person refers 10 people, it will be an easy $50.00 for them and new customers for you.

Some really great ideas in this thread.

I market online almost exclusively, but I do always have business cards and when someone asks me for NON-business help, info, advice (I'm a public speaker and writer), I hand them a business card with my email address on it and ask them to email me for info.

I also created a selection of t-shirts to wear with our URL on them, etc. ( http://www.cafepress.com/bookwhizbiz )and just bought my business URL for the back window of my car in vinyl lettering.

Do you believe that talking to people at the supermarket is a good place?

Or how about on the city bus?

Or when a saleman comes to your door?

Or when you are at the mall?

Or is it better to talk to businesses?

What is your experience?  Any thoughts on this?  I would like to hear what works for you and your approach....:)

Can anyone help me with this?.. I would apprciate your advise and some suggestions

Thank you.

There is some great ideas in this forum.  I believe preparation is the key, when doing any form of the offline marketing.  Whatever form of offline marketing you choose,  would you not agree, that, maybe before venturing out to do that activity. Like for example,  rehearsing your presentation a few times ahead of time each day.  Role playing it with your spouse, like she is the propect.

That it would be wise to either get some advise from someone who has done it already.  Or do some research on that form of marketing offline at the library or read a book on the subject?  It would not hurt... I know personally that is helping  me.

By doing so, you will be able to do it successfully and purhaps avoid making a serious blunder that could cause you some real embassment or the very least you would be unprepared for the event.  So with knowlege and preparation you will be successful.  :)

Seek out groups that would naturally have an affinity to your
ptoduct or Opoortunity.

You wouldn't discuss the Fur Business to a Group of
Animal Rights Activists.

Example, my wife has an off-line direct mail business that creates
substantial residual Income.

She always discusses and advertises at Horse Shows, because
all horse Lovers always NEED and Want more money
to supprit their habit

I personally market a supplement......
In public I am willing to engage anyone that Looks
like THEY care about themselves, and I will sincerely
commpliment them accordingly.

People love to talk about themselves..let them go,
just keep asking questions.

"Selling to people who actually want to hear from
you is more effective than interrupting Strangers,
who don't"

Learn to develop Relationships first, The Law of Attraction will naturally comne into play.

Offline marketing can be funny sometimes. Wt the heck? You might even leave your business card on the table of any restaurant you visit.

Just an idea anyway;)

I've found the best way to market offline is by using the Internet as a bridge.  What I mean by that is setup a simple lead capture page, offer a free booklet/CD that you will mail to your prospects' home that offers generic training products and upsells a low price point product ($20 or so). From there you will want to upgrade a certain percentage into higher priced products and ultimately some sort of subscription service.  Obviously there's more to it but that gives you an idea.

If anyone is interested in knowing more about how to create/use a successful sales funnel for your networking business send me a PM.

Here are a few offline marketing ideas that I have used that do work, but only if you are persistent in your efforts to use them.

1.  Putting business card flyers on cars.  Business card flyers are business cards with your ad on it along with your phone number and/or web site address.  You place these business cards on the drivers side window.  Have the advertisement facing towards the inside of the card.  This will force the owner of the car to pick up the card and turn it over to read the print.  I try to put out 300 each time I put these out. I know this sounds like a lot, but it takes me no time to find a parking lot and quickly put them out.  It will take about 2-3 hours, maybe. Plus think of the exercise you will receive.

I have done this often and it has generated me quite a bit of business.

2.  Place your ads in weekly newspapers.  Why?  They are cheaper and people tend to keep them longer.  Even when I stop advertising in these papers, I still receive phone calls up to a month later.  You usually want to have your ad placed in the newspaper for about 30 days.  Test the paper. If you get good results keep the ad in that paper. If you don't get good results, find another paper.

3. Magnetic Car signs. You can go to business store, like Office Depot or a Sign store. I have used these and I can't tell you how many times I get a call from someone who read my ad on my car or who stop me while I am driving in my car to ask me about my ad.

These are just a few offline methods that I have used that do work for me.  They are low-cost too.  The business cards I make at home using software I had purchased a while back.  The newspaper I have used cost me a little over $8.00 for two weeks of advertising.  Key is to be persistent in your advertising.  You can't do it for one week, month and then stop. You have to repeat your advertsing over and over again.

Yes I have found sizzle cards a great method. They are also handy when speaking to someone especially if they are on the topic of family, time and money.

As soon as someone starts talking about what they do or what I do I simply take the opportunity and hand out the Business/sizzle card.

In fact I had a salesman come to the front door the other day and simply said "Hey I'm not interested today but if you give me your business card I will consider calling you in the future." Then I said "Hey if you are ever looking at a different opportunity that takes less time and effort take a look at this"

He hasn't registered yet but at least I had another person look at my Business. You never know when you will find that Gold Nugget.

I use business cards with my URL imprinted in them. Get a bunch printed (I recommend vistaprint.com) and leave them everywhere I go, ie. supermarket shelves (while I do grocery shopping), restrooms (in restaurants and shopping malls), windshields, etc. Get creative and leave them everywhere! Set yourself a goal to do this for 2 to 3 hours a day for a  month, and you'll get responses!

Much Success,

Here something you can try and experiment with. Make up a button that says
"guess what I do" people will automatically see it and we are so pre-programmed that they won't be able to resist asking you what you do. This becomes a perfect opportunity for you to give them a business card or briefly tell them about your business or product. It takes the pressure off of you because they are contacting you. Try it and see what happens, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Hi,

I have found one of the easiest ways to promote is to put candy, business card, mimi flyer in a snack ziplock. Hand them out at childrens events(ball games), to the tellers to hand out at the bank, anywhere.

I go one step farther with having labels made with my website. I stick them to smarties individual wrapped candies. I keep them in my purse and had them out everywhere I go..

Cheap advertizing!

I have been building a lists of marketing ideas for some time now.

Why not help each other build.

One of my favs is

I bought a fish bowl.

I go to the local video rental store  and offer to give away 5 free rentals a month.

I make entry blanks with 3 questions concerning my Shaklee business(for instance)

1. How concerned with global warming and environmental issues are you?

2.Would you like info on making your home safer for your loved ones?

3.Are you interested in getting a little bit more green?

Name

email

phone

state and country

I pay for 5 rentals which are drawn once a month.I monthly have new leads that have signed their name email and phone. By the time I get through the the last months leads it is time to draw again and I have anpther handfull of leads.

This cost me about $20 a month per store for leads.

Get creative..give aways at the filling station just off the freeway will net you great national leads...Offer a 25 dollar prepaid gas or phone card..

This is the cheapest advertizing you can get.

Hello

Do you have business cards?

How about putting them in your bills. I know there are some of you who actually do this but for those who don't should start.

You never know who will open your bill and one day decide to look at that business card for one reason or another and type your URL into the the address bar :)
