Hi everyone, an SEO site cought my eye today. It claimed to be able to guarantee the customer a top ten position in google "guaranteed" or your money back.
My question is how can thay be so certain?
Seems a bit suspicious to me.
Any comments?

It seems to me that the word "guarantee" is a fairly mis-used term, hence almost valueless.
For a guarantee to have any value there has to be credibility behind it. What does your gut say to you? I think the answer is; Rubbish!
Did the ad say how long they would need to get a client's site to #1?
Was there any small print that "let them off the hook"?
Certainly it is possible to land a website on page one in Google for an obscure, hence rarely searched term. But what's the benfit of that?
While they might offer a good service, I think that you will need to ask more questions and see how fast they answer you, what sort of answers they give you, do their answers seem to be truthful and direct, and not just skirting around your questions like a politician saying nothing.
In other words, get them to state what exactly they will do for the money.
If you decide to try them, start small and track your results. If you're happy with the results, maybe use them again at a higher level and again track your results.
This is probably the only way that you can be sure.
I hope this helps.
Andreas Krokene.
