If it is just traffic counting, I have found the most easiest and convienent traffic counter is at http://www.alexa.com/site/ds/top_500.
Simply type the url into the get traffic searcher at the top of the page and the details come straight up, no need to join or provide any other information.

Well, your title said link popularity, so im assuming you meant backlinks, and not traffic.
googlewebmaster tools is a good way to check all your google links (link:domain.com doesnt show all links, all the time)
Yahoo -- link:http://www.domain.com is the easiet way to check your yahoo backlinks, and is fairly accurate.

| If you are trying to find backlinks, then Yahoo has one of the most comprehensive tools of all. You just type in "link:http://www.yoururl.com" into the search box. That will show you all the sites linking back to you.
