Hey Michael,
Great news! I have succeeded to install the blue nav box for best mlm webring.
I basically did this...
1. clicked on the link again by chris
2. clicked on join in the webring box as per the site
3. in the fill in your details box, clicked "log in"
4. At login usually it will appear only like 3 fields mainly url, site title and site description
5. copy past script! thats it! how cool can it get ...
Is this correct ? my blog revisit

Feels great after fighting for nights about this. But its finally up!
Anyway, I read something about google doing a check on blogs and sites. It seems that they're not in favor of blogs which have 'unnatural links' in them.
Do you know anything about it ? I'm afraid that it might hurt my SE PR ...

Normally is should be between 24-48 hours. Its real quick.
It depends on the webmaster too if they take longer than expected you might want to check back by sending them an email. webring has features to help you send that email.
Congrats on your webring setup. Its pretty easy ain't it ?

Yes vern it was easy doing the setup part of the page..but I got an email of them saying there reviewing my site..so Im going to give it a couple of days and then get back to them. What if my site is not suitable, do I have to re submitt another one?

Well charlie.. normally if your site is not suitable all you gotta do is just register for another webring and put the correct HTML code in your blog again.
Though usually it should work fine..

Hey Vern...I will do that..and see what happens this time, how do you ping your bloggs do you do that every week? I have heard of pinging before but haven't actually done it yet do you do that?

Charlie,
Go to the blog discussion board here for more info on blogs. This board is for link exchanges and webrings.
That said (whew)...you ping after every post you make to your blog. You're basically telling the world you just added new material. Set it up with pingomatic or pingoat and it'll be done automatically for you evry time you "open" your profile with them. Saves time.

Charlie,
Don't join too many....1-2 is sufficient. Also...don't put the coding at the top of your blog (header)....instead put them in your footer (bottom). They aren't for visitors....they're for search engines link strategy. Puting them anywhere but the footer clutters your site and might "turn off" visitors. You want visitors to focus on your other content and links.

Thanks for the information. I'm still having trouble to rank my blog in alexa.com. It only says traffic rank 16 in blogspot ? do you know what this means and how can I get ranked in the universal web traffic ranking in alexa?

Hi Charlie,
I only joined 1 webring just to test it out. Its the same one recommended by michael and chris. You'd want to do the same like us. As mentioned, try putting your webring at the bottom footer so that your visitors will only get to see content and the webring panel button.

Vern,
Basically Alexa rankings are based solely on traffic. The more traffic you have the better you're ranking. Your blog is still pretty new so don't expect a lot too quickly. But you will get there if you are consistent and persistent in your traffic generation strategies.
