Nope. If you have the Google Adwords on your site then you can't draw attention to them and ask someone to click on them. They may cancel your account completely if they find out, which they do occasionally.

Yep, but unfortunately some people don't take the time to read the rules, so they don't know any better. But if Google catches someone breaking them they can cancel the account completely.
You can't ask that people click on the ads on your site, nor can you click on them yourself. And this if for a good reason...to make sure the advertisers are not being cheated by useless and costly clicks.
They also have a limit of how many ad units you can have on each page (3 per page plus the Google search box). Their Terms of Service Policy is pretty lenghty, but it's good to know as much as you can to avoid losing your account.

Hi Doug,
You can find them by using these two tools:
Overture's Keyword Selector Tool: This will show you what keyword terms were searched for last month, and how many times they were searched for. Generally, the less a keyword is searched for, the less it'll cost.
Overture's View Bids Tool: This will show you the bids and listings for search terms.
These are from Overture (owned by Yahoo!) and not Google, but they'll give you an excellent idea of what's being searched for across the entire Internet.
I use them all the time. Very handy... especially the Keyword Selector Tool. Sometimes it's surprising (and generally quite interesting) to see what people are typing in for their web searches.
For really low-cost keywords, remember also to bid on commonly misspelled words. You'd be surprised how many clicks this can get you for very little cost as opposed to bidding on the correctly spelled words.
Anyway, hope that helps!

Hi,
You might like to take a look at my article - Master Keyword Chart at ArticlesOn.com .
Simply search on the site for the title and/or for myself as author - AndyE Barnes.
The Article covers the basic steps to choosing the most profitable keywords for your site, using the Overture Keyword Selector.

Hi everyone,
I came across this site a while ago. It's definetely helpful for your AdWords campaigns.
http://www.mikes-marketing-tools.com/adwords-wrapper.html
I use it to get the broad, exact and phrase keywords done instantly. It also recommend wordtracker for keywords which is a great service as well.

You will never find a cheaper, higher quality lead than from
Google Adwords. And he best part is that you don't pay when
you mess up! I love adwords and when you listen to my call
you will know I do...
for anyone who wants to promote anything:
-Affiliates
-Church Groups
-E-Books
-Software
-Clickbank
-MLM or Network-Marketing
-Direct Sales
-Or just your Personal Website
Google can and will help you produce results, and I want to
help anyone who wants to help themselves!
I recorded one of my live Google Adwords Training calls here:
Phone Number:
(641) 985-5999
Extension:
13781#
This is free training that anyone can use 24hours a day
7days a week. I still do live training calls, if you want
to be set up on my mailing list to get notification of my
next Google tele-seminar just send me a private message with
your contact details and I will add you to my list. Of
course you can unsubscribe anytime! It's a double optin
list, so you will need to confirm before any of my emails
come to you.
You will also get sent invitations to my motivation minute
calls, the main focus of these calls is mindset, but I do
throw in a free business building tip once in a while all
my calls are Free to join and I love having other motivated-
happy people on my call
Before you dial that number you need to get an account:
https://adwords.google.com/select/
if you have trouble signing up for your account go here:
http://www.google.com/adwords/learningcenter
The key to Google Adwords is that you need to keep at it
every day. Improve what you have got, and get rid of what's
not working for you...keep your click through ratio high;
Google rewards that.
If you have a word that is getting lots of hits and you rank
in the top 10, but you are getting no clicks you have a
winner...you just need to write an ad that targets that
keyword better in a new adgroup.
To our Google success,
Jay Kanik
PS. I recently found this tool, it was after I recorded my
training call so I thought I should add it here:
http://www.seo2020.com/seo-tools/keyword-research/keyword-research-tool/
I think it's better than overtures keyword tool

Thanks Jay!
I just got started with Google Adwords and I'm finding it very challenging. I like to be challenged but the keywords are really getting the best of me. I paused my ads to come back to it when I know more about what I'm doing.
I will listen to the call and get back with you for more help.
Thanks again!

I'm just curious, and please excuse my ignorance if this violates Google's policies (in which case please don't respond!)... What is the range of costs per click that you guys are experiencing? I can sort of get a good idea by looking at Google's tools, but it seems to me to be relatively costly given the risk of fraud.
Also, do you guys use tools to track the visitor time on your site? I'm wondering if you are worried at all about fraud and if you've noticed or suspected any fraudulent activity.

for me I pay anywhere between .05 and .75 per click, but that's cause I use very targeted and unique keywords. there are people out there who pay $7/click. that's just insane though!
plug into my call and learn a bit more about that side of it.
I have not been worried about the fraud...I do know it's out there, but you will have that in any business. with google it can't break you though, and they have security in place that catches fraudulent clicks, it's not as much of a problem as it was a couple years ago.
to me the biggest risk anyone could take is to work in a "regular" job for the rest of their life...but that's a whole other topic in itself
to our success,
Jay Kanik

I think the key is relevant and targeted keywords, at least when you're otherwise looking at $5-7/click!
I'm quite surprised that Yahoo! has been so slow in rolling out their program. I'm wondering if it's a fraud-prevention issue or if they are just biding their time.
Anyway, I think PPC is here to stay, I'm just wondering if Google will continue to be the world leader, at least to the extent they are, or if more targeted sites and programs might end up taking away some of that market share.... at least if the costs keep rising!

Yep, the tools I use most often in my Google Adwords campaigns are the Overture tools. Probably since Aaron and I both read and (continue) to try and master the lessons Perry Marshal teaches in his book, Definitive Guide to Google Adwords. I don't recommend trying to set up campaigns without reading this book...
Just my opinion! Get the best bang for your buck!
Yours in greater success,
Merideth

Hey Paul,
thats a good site. It will definitely be very helpful for all adwords users.
I use it personally as well and help to tweak between exact and broad tuning on the keywords.

| I just started my AdWords campaign and I purchased ClickAdEqualizer. I thought it would be more helpful in determining cost effective keywords. Any suggestions?

hey wade - nope I did not use that. Would you care explaining a little on this feature and how you have benefited from using it ?
I mainly monitor mine with CTR vs keyword or ad effectiveness and put a budget cap for what I want.
