One of the toughest concerns for every internet marketer on this planet is the problem of getting a continuous flow of website traffic. In my opinion, even if your sales pages and follow up letters are written on an average level, you can still recruit lots of distributors to your business if you have massive traffic! The reason for that is because MLM is nothing but a numbers game. It's just a matter of anticipating averages and sales ratios.
For example, let's say you were able to bring 1,000 targeted visitors to your site each week. If your sales conversion percentage is only 1%, then you will still be assured to get 10 new sign-ups within that single week!
So the solution for every network marketer online is increase the amount of traffic. However, bringing targeted traffic can be very difficult for many people.
The best way to build massive traffic is to create articles that appeals to your target market and then distribute them virally. I'm talking about regularly writing articles, ideally everyday, and using these same articles for different purposes in your MLM pipeline.
For example, within one day, I write an article and submit it to at least five different article submission sites. After that, I post the same article in various forums. Then, I post the same article/s in my blog. After that, I add that article to my autoresponder series. Finally, I send the same article to my downline so they too, can repost it in various forums/blogs, this time, with their affiliate link on it!
Indeed, one article has a massive potential to bring tens and hundreds of new members to your downline -- starting today.

If I can only pick one, I would have to say article marketing, here is why.
If you have a great article, you can distribute it everywhere, including forums, which is my second choice. It jst does everything for your website; it builds a relationship with your readers, it can bring in highly targeted traffic, it improves the number of backlinks to your website(about 5-10 per article) which increases your search engine ranking over time, it is great content to put up on your website, you can send it in an autoresponder, it can be viral when submitted to a social bookmarking website, you can use it in your blog. It is just the way to go for me, in general you just need to write useful content.

When people visit your site, read your content, and leave without making a purchase, they are considered lost opportunities unless you have a strong tool that you can use to capture their email addresses. When you have their contact information, you can easily establish a way to get in touch with them so you can build rapport and eventually earn their trust. When they already do, pitching your products becomes easier because you're most likely to convince them to take advantage of your offering. This is the idea behind list building. It allows you to convert potential clients to buying customers to augment your sales revenue.
1. Improve your website content and put up your sign-up forms. The first step that you need to take to persuade people to join your subscriber's list is to establish your expertise. You can do so by filling your website with valuable and useful information. Then, post your sign-up forms on every page of your website to make it easier for your potential clients to subscribe.
2. Offer freebies or discounts. Encourage more people to sign up by giving them something in exchange of their subscriptions. Throw away free ebooks, tutorials, vouchers, and discounts. As people love getting something for free, this can definitely boost your sign-up rate.

I must agree with burtonridr. Article marketing I find is the best and absolute number 1 way of marketing online. I actually find article marketing better than paid advertisements and the best part is its FREE. You get so many benefits from submitting articles:
- Be seen as an expert
- Get backlinks to your site
- Get indexed by search engines
- Get traffic from the article directories themselves
- Earn credibility
- Possibly more traffic if someone posts your article on their site and/or ezine
- Keep for future content on your site and or ezine/newsletter
- and so much more...
I don't know about anyone else but I find all of the above as a benefit as an online marketer. I really do not see more benefits like this from any other form of advertising.

Also you can create a squidoo lens and add your article to that. More fresh content added to these places the better. I like the idea of adding them to your auto-responders - give your list some valuable information and build a good relationship with them. Thanks for the tips.

Here are 6 good ways to get free traffic to your web site:
1- Add pages regularly. The search engines love it when your web site shows activity. Adding relevent information, by writing to your blog each day for example, will go a long way toward giving you a higher ranking in the search engines.
2- Of course, this is almost everybody's favorite -- article marketing. The average clickthrough rate of articles is a whooping 10%. (with PPC and traditional advertising, the CTR is only 4% to 5% on the average.) Still haven't switched to article marketing??
3- Participate in high-traffic discussion forums, and create an attractive forum signature that oontains your link on it. Post everyday.
4- Submitting a video can be extremely powerful and help you get free traffic to your website very fast. If your video is relevant, funny and controversial it can create a buzz. YouTube comes to mind as an excellent source for this kind of traffic.
5- Put an e-mail signature with your web site address at the end of every e-mail you send. You can automate this process by creating a signature file in your e-mail program.
6- Create a report or a program (software) that you give out for free when people go to your web site. Make sure your URL is prominent throughout your report or program so that when people pass it around, you get some traffic.
To get free traffic to your web site is not really difficult if you regularly follow the steps mentioned above. The key word is "regularly".

If you have tried any of the other methods for driving lots of traffic to your site such as FFA's, traffic exchanges, buying traffic, safelists etc., you have discovered that traffic in an of itself is not a cure-all.
The beauty of article marketing is in the quality of the leads and subscribers. They are genuinely interested in you and your product.

The real idea of LLN is it "guarantees" stable long-term results for random events which also applies to business.
Closing sales are like flipping a coin to get a 50/50 head or tail, but you really need to continue flipping the coin. Chances are 50% of each, but if you DON'T flip the coin, that's where you stop getting sales/results.
In order to relate this concept to internet marketing means you need to consistently (flip your coin) generate a lot of traffic or make your website available, to make it easier for your customers to notice/click your site. Out of those many rejections are bound to be people that subscribe/purchase your product!
When you stop generating traffic or unable to generate traffic to your site, that's where you are unable to get results.

Of course you are not a dummy. If you have chosen internet marketing and MLM as a source of income, you're definitely one of the smart ones, and as Yahoo news once said, "part of the intellectually elite".
But my point is, generating traffic does not have to be a rocket science or insurmountable task. It doesn't have to be an activity that only the select few "gifted" people know how to do. If you have a website, blog, replicated website, profile page, Youtube channel, Myspace profile, or any kind of web presence, then you already probably know that traffic generation is a must. You probably already know the basics to it.
You must understand that traffic is everywhere. There are now hundreds of millions of people surfing the internet daily. And yet, a lot of marketers complain that they don't have traffic to their site! Can you imagine that?
If you want to see where the cars go, then you should go take a walk on the highway, isn't it? The same on the web. There are so called traffic "highways". The first highway is the search engines. The second is article submission sites. The third is ad spaces. The fourth is Web 2.0 sites. There are many others.
The key is to choose the "highway" that you like, and focus your efforts on that particular highway first. You will notice that generating traffic in each highway is different from each other. But as you gain experience and skill, you will be able to generate traffic like you're just taking breakfast.

I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I haven't done very much article marketing. The few articles I have written have generated a little traffic, but nothing earth shattering.
I find the best way to drive traffic to my site is to continually add quality content to the site itself. When I add pages based on keyword research, the search engine just sends me the traffic for free.
Perhaps I'm stuck in my comfort zone with this. I keep telling myself I should write and submit more articles since "everyone" seems to be doing it. Realistically, though, I only have so many hours in a day, and I just haven't "got around to it" yet. :lol:
One of these days...
But, hey, what I am doing seems to be working fine, so I'm not going to beat myself up over it.

If I was to only say one thing it would probably be making videos. I have had a lot of success using videos to drive them to my site or wherever I want them to go. I think they are more effective over other things because the viewer actually gets to see the person behind the words and it helps develop a trust that just plain print can not. People are more likely to listen when they can see the person.

| I see many people that try to use keywords in their images but I keep telling them that a spider bot can not read an image. I think you have some good tips here, and I am right now testing out a new place that says they can hit up search engines with results to target what I need, but we shall see.

| You can get traffic from your images, using keywords, but not as part of the image. You need to use the alt tags with your image and place the keywords there. I think it depends on the industry you're in, and even then a combination of approaches probably works best.
Article marketing, social networking, blogging, etc are all great traffic builders for folks in niche markets...others might benefit more from a PPC campaign, however (like a gift card website or something, for example).
