I am currently selling an all natural nutritional supplement and created a blog for it. I just started the blog in the beginning of November and after a couple weeks had posted just about all the information I had available about the product and the business opportunity.
I have spent thousands of hours in researching how to achieve optimal health and well being and have a career in writing. I thoroughly enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others in hopes that it will assist them in achieving optimal health and well being.
So, I started composing articles with smoothie recipes, natural health information, my transformation and other experiences. Do you think this is a good idea to have the two intertwined? I can only write so much about the product and business opportunity and could not possibly add a new article every day or two, that would just be overkill anyway. I really enjoy the writing and sharing information. Is it best to keep this on my product and business op blog or should I create a separate blog that has a link to my product blog? Anyone have any experience with this that they could share?
It sounds like you have done a pretty good job about setting up your "product" page which tells people about what you have. Now you need a mechanism to help them find it on the web (there are only so many friends and family that you can phone!).
What you might like to look at doing is generating traffic to your blog from other sites that will naturally generate more traffic than yours but which will help you lift the profile of your site.
Have a look at eZines and also I have found that some of the Web 2.0 sites such as http://www.hubpages.com and http://www.squidoo.com can be great sites to hone your writing craft. You can write about anything you like there, including things related to your website. Where appropriate you can link back to your site, but you can also look at building affiliate income by promoting other related products.
If nothing else, you can let your creative juices flow. There are also plenty of guides out there on how to write articles for these types of site. If you combine this with a little bit of focussed keyword research you should get some nice results for your blog and your business.
