I just started to blog prior to the Holidays, did not know what I was doing what so ever.. but just started to write about every day life, not sure if this is what to blog about because I am new to the blog world.
I do have a website, and I do have my blog link on my website, but not sure if I should blog about my online business or make the blog more personal as I have done, or blog about both... HELP...
I am not sure I am a blog junkie but it is therapeutic to some form.. and I do have just a few who follow my blog. I write about 3 times a week. Is there a format to how much one should write, what to write?
Any who, if you would like to look at my blog and tell me if this is what a blog is suppose to be about, I would really appreciate your time.

Hi Sherri,
Nice blog. I dropped in and took a look. I've asked the same questions about whether to mix business and pleasure on a blog or whether to go straight business and gotten the general idea that it's really up to you and your personal style. Blogs are a more intimate form of communication than a straight website, so you should definitely let your personality show through. Just keep in mind that when you post personal stuff it should be interesting enough or useful enough to keep someone on your blog or coming back to your blog.
Blogging about your online business is perfectly acceptable so long as you're not doing straight promotion. Since you offer products that keep babies secure in strollers and seats, you could offer baby travel tips, parenting tips, baby safety tips, funny quotes about babies, statistics about babies...things of interest to your intended audience. That draws people in and keeps them coming back.
For some really great blog tips, check out Chris Brogan's 27 Secrets here:
http://www.chrisbrogan.com/27-blogging-secrets-to-power-your-community/
I love his 27 suggestions and am actually trying them all out personally, three at a time. Kind of a rubber-meets-the-road test. I'm posting results to my blog.
As for posting frequency, almost all the experts agree that consistency is the key. Post once a week, three times a week, or several times a day, whatever works for you, but be consistent so your readers know what to expect. Chris Brogan also suggests an editorial calendar so you have an aim when you write and you make sure you don't repeat yourself.
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Stephanie

I have to agree with the above reply. Consistency is very important. Even if you only ad a single post a week, people will know that every Monday (as an example) a new installment will be available.
If you decide to post weekly, a good thing to do would be know what your next post will be about and 'tease' your readers with a short blurb about what to look forward to. Close out every post with something like... "Remember to check out my post next week when I'll be discussing ....blah blah blah..." That way the readers will know whats coming and will be sure to return.

That is a wonderful idea, to post about what is to come next week at the end of every blog I write, this way they know to come back- great idea. I will start doing this now.
Thank you so much for your help

Hi Sherry,
If you have a business site and you have a link to your blog on it, then you need to have content on your blog related to the products that you sell. If you don't then do whatever you feel is right.
