Julieanne is on track wth this hint. I like some of your oter tips as well. I do have one question. Can you ping too much, will it be spam if you do it after every new post?

Thanks Karen and Jason, you're both welcome.
The Pinging services won't usually allow you to ping too much. Pingoat doesn't. The other night, I made a mistake with the URL for my RSS feed, so I attempted to Ping again, and they wouldn't let me.
The services permit us to ping once for each blog post, that's what I do. Actually, I've never made more than one post in a day, so don't know if they allow more than 1 ping in 24 hours.

As far as my experience goes, they do allow more than one ping in a 24-hour period. I've pinged more than once a day on a few occasions with no problem. But, if the pings are too close together time-wise, then it won't let them go through and you'll get a message saying something like, "Whoa, slow down, you're pinging too fast!"
But as for what the specific time limits are, I have no clue. I just ping every time I post or update a post. So to answer your question Jason...as long as your're not repeatedly pinging old stuff you should have no problem whatsoever. If you write a new post, ping away!

Thanks for the great information. This post is old for most of you guys but is certainly valuable to me.
I have a question here, so do you ping everytime you have a new topic on your blog? Or do you ping multiple blogs in pingoat or pingomatic at once?

I tried to read your article, but there was some kind of error on each page. Is there any way you can post the article on the forum, or is the error just a temporary glitch? Now that my blog is getting established, I'd like to focus on getting some real traffic. I was thrilled when I got above 400 unique hits, but I'd like to speed up the process

Yeah, I get the same error; it occurs on each page and is indeed a server error.

google seems to be changing to using theme density and away from keyword density.
also unique content needs to be unique
i used to write an article and send that same article to many many article directories, however that is now being penalised.
and writing lots different articles that are 30% on average different, and submitting these seems to work more
also offpage links seems to be changing, ie year ago if i had 50 links to my page all with same anchor text, I would have been ok
but today having different anchor text on links seems to work better
