Blog marketing seems real complicated. I was thinking of doing it like a journal where I put in my daily progress with the program I'm in now.

Just get started. That's where a lot of others have a problem. Just type about your experience, give important facts about the product you promote, and just keep putting in new entries.
Most people think blogging is a great idea, but never get around to their first entry. You need to put an entry in a day or every other day. Before you know it, you have tons of entries and lots of free traffic. If you're not good at writing, just have someone read it over before you publish... And, always spell check it.

There are a ton ways to "get started" ... but therein is the key. Just start!
What you blog on, say, write etc. will come to you easier and easier .... but you have to put the some words down FIRST. Don't freeze up ....
The blog will likely evolve as you get more comfortable ... and learn more. Mine did. I have 2 which have been up for over 3 years and went through there own "growing pains" ... as did I.

But it was all worth it. I'm very happy with where they are now ... looks, traffic, and sales generated. Both are "resource" websites which is the theme I chose.
In fact ... I like blogging and the results I get so much that I put up another blog this weekend . Applied everything I'd learned so far .... and will still likely tweek it off and on anyway.

There's a ton of information, tips, and insights in the Blog Marketing board here. Read ALL of them and then USE them.
Bottom line ... just get started. Then enjoy the ride from there.

Your first goal needs to be what you will be blogging about, try and make the site as interesting as possible. You will want visitors to come back, to find the topics you are blogging about helpful, and for your readers to go away happy with what they have read.
My advice has got to be, think about marketing your blog once you are completely happy with it, once you are happy with the first part of your site, you can then go on to marketing it.
Depending on the type of site, will then depend on how you wish to get it known to people.
Blogging is also about having fun and pushing new boundaries for yourself. Everyones views are different, but once you have a good site, the marketing and customers should come easy.

I just started writing articles and then posted them on my blog. I post 5 days a week which means 4 articles a week and 1 advertisement. It's amazing what keywords arrive at my blog with so many different articles i've written.
Get started straight away and don't forget google loves you adding fresh unique content

Greetings all! Am just getting started with blogging. Wanting to take my current website and create a blog. Can anyone recommend where I should begin? Is blogger enough or should I use something a little more expansive? Any advice on anything related to blogging is much appreciated. Am not a newbie to MLM but very green in the blog world!

Great information! Thank you!! I enjoyed viewing your blogs as well. Do you do well with the affiliate marketing or does Google Adsense generate more $$? I have a relative who started blogging for fun, has 5 blogs now and is doing roughly $1300/day with Google adsense. Is this a good number? It sounds good to me, but I more want my blog to be used to promote my new MLM company.

Blogspot is fine to get started. But it looks like Wordpress is now the most advanced platform. It seems that all the big marketing blogs are using this platform (with a unique domain they've pruchased). My advice would be to start with the free version so you get used to it. You can always upgrade later.

Well I belive on two things.
1. Always make a blog where you can put good content everyday and make sure that you like that niche most and make it more interesting for your visitors so people visit blog again and again.
2. Promote blog in free way like blog commenting, signature links in Forums which niche is same as yours.

I think a journal of your daily progress is a good way to start a blog for two reasons.
1) If you post about your daily progress in your business, you should have something to post about nearly every day.
2) Knowing that you need to make that post can help motivate you to DO something for your business that day.
Make the posts interesting, and honest. I think people would enjoy knowing what the day-to-day routine is like for building a successful business.
Don't make the posts mini-ads for your business, rather focus on presenting yourself as a real person and the leads will follow.
