I just figured out that you have more edit buttons (in the post new topic screen) in IE than you do in Mozilla. The one that sticks out is the hyperlink button.
No big deal...I'll use IE to post if needed or hand type the code.

I mean the button is missing in Mozilla and is there in IE. There's several others missing too. I just counted and there's 7 options missing in Mozilla.
I can send you a screen shot if you want to see the difference.

Missing cut, copy, paste, shadow text, glow text, blur text, insert link, spell check.
What are you doing visiting in more than one browser anyway? I hardly ever open IE anymore.

I seldom open IE either but someone mentioned the hyperlink button in another post and since I didn't have it in Mozilla, I tried it in IE.
I just installed the new version of IE and may have to switch back. It has even more cool stuff than Mozilla including tabs. I'm sure it still has all the security issues though so it's a tough choice.

I do. Mozilla is the only browser I've used lately. With the exception of testing the new IE. the link is http://www.mozilla.org

I like it too. Mozilla is the only one I use at the moment. I prefer it to the other choices, though I'm still testing it some.

Interesting discussion. I'm not that savvy when it comes to browsers. I have used Mozilla a little bit in the past, but found it to be very limited so I switched back to IE. I've heard about the security issues, but if you have firewalls and virus protection and update it on a regular basis, doesn't that eliminate those security issues?
Thanks!

I am annoyed by having to continually use IE just because there are sites that don't support Mozilla or other browsers. I guess if we can get enough people away from IE and convince more sites to support Mozilla (and others) then Microsoft will lose some of the monopoly?
It probably won't happen.

There aren't that many sites that you have to have IE left. I only have maybe 5 that I visit.

Problem solved.
I installed Firefox and there is an extension that allows you to open a page in an IE tab. There's also many many other extensions that make Firefox my new favorite browser. I blogged about a few extensions I found today at Brian's blog

I like Mozilla quite a bit as well. Even though it is much newer than IE (and may lack certain features), it is so helpful to have multiple tabs open in one browser window - it makes it much easier to move back and forth between pages. I now get very frustrated using IE - those window buttons on the bottom of the screen can get awfully small if you have several windows open.

Still a problem isn't it?
It regulary bothers people when writing text in forums and email programs like Yahoo. Even big, popular companies like Yahoo don't offer full functionality to Firefox users.
The newest IE 7 (beta) offers tabs and other cool stuff, but it's like congratulations microsoft, you're 3 years late.
I'm going to track down that firefox extension that allows IE to open in a tab so I can easily use BB code.

| I like Mozilla mainly for just doing some website editing . But use IE strictly for browsing. this way I can ensure that the website I'm seeing is being seen by the majority of the people out there too.

Hi,
I just stumbled across the solution to the "firefox problem" once and for all!
A couple of very bright guys from Taiwan have made a firefox extension called, IE Tab
"IE Tab, an extension from Taiwan, embeds Internet Explorer in a Mozilla/Firefox tab.
This extension is derived from the famous extension IE View, but much different.
While IE View always open IE-only pages in a seperate Internet Explorer window, IE Tab can view them in a Mozilla/Firefox tab."
I use this extension to automatically launch TrafficSwarm in an IE firefox tab. Taht way I can see which ads I've already clicked. One right click instantly renders any page within a Firefox tab!
It's awesome, bug free and now I can have full functionality within all sites and retire the old IE forever.
http://ietab.mozdev.org/
Enjoy!

If you are still with Firefox 1.5. Its best to upgrade to 2.0
They do have security issues...

I was a huge fan of IE before but my professor told me that Mozilla is much better than IE when it comes to security issues. So I switched to Mozilla and has been an avid user since then.
