I tried to register but never received a confirmation to my aol address.

I tried again using my yahooo address and it was there in two seconds.

Do your friends use aol?  Tell them check their spam settings. Mine are medium.

I didn't try using a lower setting.

Because of domain name homebasedbusinessforums.com it may not get thru at all.

I'm not able to login on my desktop computer.  I don't get an error message when I use my username/password....

...but after logging in, the system won't let me post or respond to any messages because it says I'm -- again -- not logged in.

I'm not sure how I got logged out in the first place but, if it happens on my laptop (which I'm using now) then I will once again be locked out.

So, my situation isn't email notifications (although it might come to that).  For now, I'm simply not able to login.

Any ideas?

Tony Rush

Had the same problem at first.  Make sure you enable cookies.  If the forum cookie can't or doesn't "take root"....then you won't be recognized.  You might have to change your security settings in your browser.

God Bless,

Hi Tony,

I had the exact same problem ...and Michael's right, it's probably the cookies.  I had mine enabled, but not enabled quite enough.

If you use IE, just go to Properties, click on the Privacy tab and then click on Advanced. From there, make sure you mark a check where it says, "Override automatic cookie handling."

Then, make sure you have "Accept" selected under both First-party cookies and Third-party cookies.  And lastly, make sure "Always allow session cookies" is checked as well.

That should then allow you to login on the desktop computer....hopefully! That's the only way it would allow me to login.
