I want some Mana!

American Heritage Dictionary

Hi guys,

I'm new in that forum and I like to say hello to all of you. Are you still discussing the mana-thing or did you come to the conclusion what mana is.

I live in Maui Hi and we use the word mana as a way of showing respect and appreciation to our elders in the community.

It's a great way to show your respect and appreciation for those sharing their knowledge and tips on this forum. There is never a limit to what you can learn and the wisdom of the experienced is invaluable.

I'm really curious who came up with the idea of adding Mana to a forum? Before you could only really tell how credible someone was by number of posts. But you really had no idea how much of that was noise or "me too" posts. This adds a human factor and an almost page / person rank.

Very impressed!

Coolwonderer,

To get Mana you have to earn it.  You earn it by making contributions to the Forum (making informative helpful posts).  If members think your post is worthy they'll recognize you by giving you "Mana".  You don't get Mana just by asking for it.

God Bless,

Michael

I love the mana idea, I think its nice to receive positive feedback in anyway and it's great to give as well. I have really like that mana is a nice way to thank people for adding a receptive idea or comment.

Great thinking!!
